You NEVER see an actual doctor. I was a patient here for more than a year before I even MET Dr. Hsu, although I'm sure he is very nice if you are lucky enough to be among the privileged few who are actually seen by him. I was not told when I was accepted as a patient that I would never be seen by an MD, and I have only stayed with this office because I have been in poor health and unable to take the time to find something better. BTW, I am 51 years old, and this is the FIRST time in my life that I have had someone who is listed as my primary physician even though he is a complete stranger whom I never see. Because of my poor, and often unpredictable, health, I'm afraid to make appointments, since this office charges you if you miss an appointment without calling at least 24 hours in advance. I realize that other doctors do this, but (1) that doesn't make it right, and (2) THIS doctor serves MANY patients with HIV and Hepatitis C, both of which can cause patients to become ill unexpectedly. Also, you can languish in the waiting room for hours because they overbook their appointments, yet no compensation is offered for the time you have to take off work because of their incompetent office management. (This guy is RAKING in money - you can tell that by the number of people in his waiting room, the fact that he is charging everyone as if they are seeing him when, instead, they are seeing nurses, and the length of time you have to wait to see ANYONE. He doesn't need to impose petty charges for being late or missing appointments.) They require you to sign a written notice, agreeing to be charged if you miss, or are late to, an appointment, and to give them a copy of your credit card so that they can keep it on file and charge you for such "infractions." Yes, the nurse practitioners are competent, but I am PAYING to see a DOCTOR. The DOCTOR is listed as my GP. This a shame, especially for an office that "serves" so many HIV-positive patients. read more
