Wow, what a huge selection of desserts are offered here at Rick's Bakery! It took us some time to narrow down our choices, and the staff patiently waited while we decided. Everything we chose was so good. The pumpkin petit four was my favorite. It's a good thing I don't live here in Fayetteville because I would probably come here everyday until I had tried everything! The facility is huge. They have several places to sit and enjoy your selections. They also have made to order cakes, a wedding area, party goods for sale, and apparently, they offer cake decorating classes. They have some upcoming fall themed classes that looked fun. All the available goods looked Delicious. But no doughnuts here. No glazed, no powdered sugar neither. The good thing is directly in front of mikey D's there is a doughnut shop. Got some desserts yesterday and let me tell you! Everything was delicious. I am in town visiting my sister. I'm a baker and cake decorator based in Los Angeles. The staff greeted us as we walked in and a young man attended to us. He was knowledgeable about the different items we asked about and super polite. Drove over from Marble Falls to get cupcakes for my birthday.. as we exited the car, a young lady opened the door to ask if we were picking up an order, to which we replied no. She apologized and told us the store was closed to due city changing out the transformer.. with great disappointment I told her my husband drove me over 2 hours to get cupcakes as my birthday was today. After poking her head back inside the door, she told me it would be dark, but she would meet me at the front door. I wish I had gotten her name, but I didn't ! We visited Rick's with great excitement but left with a bit of disappointment. Great location and easy parking. Our kids of course were open jawed at the selection of donuts and sugared goods which are laid out great so you can see everything. We ordered a dozen donuts and let the kids pick which shouldn't be that hard or abnormal. I have to say though the staff really we not kid friendly. At least the young gentleman we worked with. Lots of questions from the kids on toppings etc, which seems reasonable. He was visibly annoyed that they would dare ask questions like what is the filling etc. The donuts themselves are definitely sub par and crazy dry. I get that's what they're going for, more cake like, but it wasn't working well. Either way. Can't recommend unless you're mainly going for the souvenir shop? If you sell kid friendly items best to also have your staff be kid friendly.... Giving two stars for the benefit of the doubt that perhaps other staff members are aware that kids also exist and like donuts.... :) read more

Ricks has always been a family favorite for our girls! A friend invited us to take a cake decorating class at Ricks Studio next door and I am so glad we joined!! Enrolling in the class took a little bit of work but once we figured out the event app it was easy. Us moms and daughters took the succulent and flowers class. The icing bags were full and ready to go! At registration you choose between white or chocolate cake. It would have been nice to be able to choose a gluten free cake but this was not an option and I could not get in touch with anyone to inquire. It is their busy season for sure! But that did not deter because the rest of my family loves the gluten full cakes.... Ha! The instructor was very helpful instructing everyone in the class. The cakes turned out beautiful and we all created some fun new memories! The price was on the higher side..... but you get to take home a small cake to enjoy for desert along with some great new skills so all in all I think it is worth the price for a fun evening out! What an amazing bakery! I casually walked in on a Friday afternoon...looking for a cake for that day. I was able to walk out with a double tier chocolate cake, that was personalized, in less than 10 minutes. There were tons of style variations that included white cake, chocolate cake, or both. Cakes were reasonably priced and worth every penny. I was also able to pick up candles. The cake itself was moist and delicious. Customer service was very friendly and welcoming. I am looking toward to checking out their bakery and celebration items in the future. I don't usually procrastinate, but in times like these, I am very thankful for Rick's bakery. read more
