We kept working with our insurance and got a cash out refinance because we also had to pay for a sewer repair in our street. They cleaned up well after themselves and laid plastic tarps in the backyard to keep the nails and debris to a minimum because I have a daycare and we use the backyard a lot. Most quotes will be above what the insurance company initially decides the repairs should cost. Plus, most companies won't even come do the piece work that the insurance approves to be done, because it's not a large enough job. I was able to schedule the estimate online, and the paperwork was delivered through email, which is a much more convenient way to deal with things. No calls from numbers you don't know, unsure whether you should answer, or if it's just another robocall, and no paperwork to physically file away. Once I decided to hire them, they had a roofer here within 2 days to do the repairs. The roofer did not collect payment that day, the manager/owner came back later to check the work, and that's when I paid for the repairs.
