Meet the Business Owner: Mahlon R.

Mahlon learned to fly as an enlisted man in the Air Force. He then taught flying lessons and sold pilot supplies during his remaining time there. After the Air Force he flew for a company based in Glens Falls with another pilot he met while in the Air Force. Together they formed Richmor Aviation in 1967 and opened business at the Columbia County airport in 1968. They started small with one airplane and 2 employees. Today Richmor has over 20 pilots, 11 corporate airplanes, fixed base operations at Columbia County (still!), Schenectady County and Kingston Ulster County airports. Richmor Aviation has maintained an FAA Part 145 certified aviation repair station for 45 years currently with 14 mechanics. Richmor has the capability to perform even the most extensive inspections on our diverse fleet and aircraft belonging to our private customers in our company owned and operated FAA certified repair stations. Richmor operates the largest flight school in the Northeast.
