Worst service I have ever received. I moved back to Canada after 14 years elsewhere. Opened the…read moreaccount with a Canadian cheque and was assured that was no problem - the cheque would be cleared in 3 to 5 business days. It has been 8 business days and it's still locked up. When I went down to ask what was going on, all I got was one person giving me crap about American cheques being deposited and absolutely NO RESPONSE as to when my Canadian cheque would actually clear. I was told that they would look into what my overdraft protection would be - to me, overdraft protection means failure. Essentially, if I didn't have family in Alberta to help me with money and my considerable savings in America, by the end of next week, I would be homeless and unable to put license plates on my car because these people will not help me in any way, shape or form. I have contacted TD as has my family and no one will respond to any request for explanation. Unless something dramatic happens and TD bank makes MAJOR customer service overtures to myself and my family, once the cheques all clear (whenever that will be), I will be closing all of my TD accounts and finding a completely different bank, one that actually focuses on customer service and being responsive. I can't caution people away from this bank more. Find someone else. DO NOT use these people. Ever.
