Dr Eidelson and his entire staff are AMAZING!! From my very first visit, his entire staff has been extremely welcoming and attentive. Once I started my journey with Invisalign, they have patiently explained every step along the way. Given my busy travel schedule, they have also been EXTREMELY accommodating and responsive to emails to ensure that I stay on the right path with my journey to straight teeth. At one point, I dropped trays on the floor at a friend's house and then forgot the next set of trays at my office before a work trip. When I went in to let them know I had taken a few steps back on my trays given all of these challenges, they give me tools to sterilize the trays that I dropped and help me understand the plan to get back on track. I love Dr. Eidelson and have recommended him many times to others! He has been my dentist for many years and I can't say enough about the excellent care he has provided me. Although I'm a long time patient, he never takes me for granted. I recently chipped a tooth and they took me the next morning, and got me started on a new crown for that tooth. Then last Friday the temporary crown popped off (my fault, don't tell him but I was chewing gum) and they saw me the next morning, despite a full waiting room, and cemented the temporary back in. I've had root canals, cerec, general hygiene and a custom mouth guard. He is always aware of the latest dental techniques. He always explains what has to be done and why. He also explains the cost and what I can expect my insurance to pay for. He is generous, has sent me thank yous for referring a patient or just to show his appreciation. His staff, many of whom have been with him a long time, are always great at their jobs and treat you with care. He is also really funny which I think is a great quality in your dentist. I was in need of an appointment for a terrible toothache I was dealing with that I was trying to ignore ( very dumb on my part ) I came across his ad on yelp as soon as I called the phone was answered by a very attentive receptionist who was able to get me in the same day which was great soon after I meet with Dr. Eidelson he performed a complete check up X-Rays , cleanings etc and also performed an extraction from start to finish I couldn't of been more happy... I recently moved to the Philadelphia area and was in need of a dentist. After reading countless reviews, I decided to give Dr. Eidelson a chance. First appointment was great; they really got to know me and did a full x-Ray of my teeth. Unfortunately, Dr. Eidelson found an infection in a previous root canal (from 2012). He recommended I seek an Endodonist for additional assistance. After seeking treatment at an Endodonist, I returned to the South St. office. Once Dr. Eidelson broke down the old cap, my tooth underneath was in bad shape. But one of my favorite things about Dr. Eidelson is that he explains everything to you; till the point that you understand what he's saying and you can now make an informed decision about the future of your teeth. I was pinned between a new crown or a possible implant. I did the implant once, it terrified me. Here is where his true character shined; he problem solves, he works through options and ideas in his head and with staff, he recalls practices from over the years and sees places and specific patients to cater to or help give back their smile. Okay. I've been meaning to write this review for a while. I have been a patient of Dr. Eidelson since Febrary of 2010 and about two months into the relationship I was regretting it BIG TIME, but unfortunately I had already paid for my treatment (he requires at least half of the payment up front) so I was stuck! I had been interested in invisalign for years, since I had braces as a kid, but never wore my retainer so I had some slight overcrowding that needed to be corrected and due to the nature of my job, traditional braces were not an option as an adult. I looked around and chose Dr. Eidelson's practice mainly because of its proximity to my house and since with invisalign you have to see the Dr. every other week, convenience was key! In the beginning the Dr and his staff were very nice and accommodating, he went through the whole computerized graphic of what my smile was going to look like and they all remembered my name when I called, I felt good about the relationship! Flash forward two months later, 3 weekends in a row I sat in the waiting room for 45 minutes because the staff was still in a "staff meeting", how about don't schedule 9:30AM appointments if you plan on having your staff meeting last till 10AM EVERY Saturday! More than that, this place is a zoo! No one has any idea what is going on half the time, the Dr. is running back and forth between the back and the reception area barking orders and trying to keep his staff together, its absolute chaos! Once the staff finally takes me back, I'll spend anywhere from 20-40 minutes waiting for someone to come fit me with new aligners (a process that takes less than 5 minutes) on multiple occasions I have had to get up and go to the front desk to REMIND them that I'm waiting! WHAT?! Oh there's more, once I went back and when the Dr. comes into the room he starts talking about my root canal, I'm thinking "what is this guy talking about?" and then I look over, he has a syringe full of numbing whatever and is about to inject it into my mouth! I say "UM, I'm just getting my invisalign aligners!" and he says "No, you have a root canal... whats your name?" WHAT ?!!? HE had the wrong patient! Are you kidding me!? Thats not enough?! When the Dr. started my invisalign treatment he didn't follow the procedure correctly, apparently he was supposed to sand down spaces in the front of my mouth, but he argued this wasn't necessary, 6 months later my teeth were moving the wrong way so I had to START- OVER, ugh, and to add insult to injury, when I came in to get fitted with my "realignment" retainers, the Dr. had "FORGOTTEN" to send off my second molds so they weren't even ready, tacking on yet another month to this entire process that was supposed to take 6 months! Also, when you go to the Dr.'s Web site they have "patient testimonies" all of the so-called patients raving about the service they received from him are employees!! Maybe he does do procedures for all of his employees, but I think using them as your before and after, patient testimonies is pretty sneaky. So here we are, a year into the 6-month procedure I was promised and I'm still 2 months away from being finished. This isn't the type service that one should receive after paying $5k for a procedure. Save your time, money and mainly your nerves by going elsewhere! read more

It's been a few years since I've been to the dentist and didn't want to have to show up with a problem like i usually do with dentists. Scheduling was really easy and super pleasant. He is an in network dentist for Guardian, which is a plus. Also in a good and accessible location, right on the corner of 11th and south. Reception was welcoming and nice. The office is really spacious and clean. The assistant Candy was really nice and took care of a full set of x-rays gently. It always hurts when the film digs in your gums, well my gums, and she was really attentive to this and my comfort level. When I met Dr. Eidelson, he was funny and smart. Theres nothing better to reduce your dental anxiety then a doctor who can make you laugh. He took the time to look over my teeth and while I have some minor issues with a crown and a bridge, since they aren't bothering me he didn't push me to have them redone. I'm scheduled to go back for a cleaning. He is also going to work with my invisalign case as I lost my retainers two years ago. What was great is that I knew the cost going in and out and they made every effort to make sure the services were in network, netting me a cost of *tada* ZERO dollars so far. Pretty impressive considering the meager payouts my dental insurance gives and lack of adult orthodontic coverage. Smart and funny dentist nets returning patient. read more

What can I say about Dr. Eidelson and his entire group? I have been a patient for several years, however, over the past 72 hours, I have cracked two teeth right before I leave for a ten day trip to Europe. Dr. E and his colleague Dr. Getreu, who is a periodontist, literally saved me. During this time, they were able to start an implant on my front tooth (yes my front tooth) and extract a broken wisdom tooth. They got me in and worked on me outside of office hours just to make sure I was ready for my trip. Dr. Eidelson also made sure I had extra material with me to make sure I can travel with peace of mind. I work as a physician and know what it means to make patient care a priority. I promise you that if you are looking for a dentist with compassion, integrity and a true dental skills then look no further. Its rare to find this kind of personal one on one care in todays medical landscape. I would recommend Dr. Eidelson and his office to any of my patients, friends and family. I'll try to keep this review short and try to make it less about me and more about the service. I've been a patient of Dr. Eidelson since 2010 and can honestly say I have never had a problem with the staff, or the service. I chose his office because I needed a dentist and not a relationship and because I liked the convenience of walking to the dentist. What I didn't expect was how friendly and personable Dr. Eidelson and his staff were and still are. Especially his staff. They all deserve raises in my opinion. The office is located on South Street with nearby parking above the Whole Foods and Superfresh markets making it convenient for driving to. Eidelson's waiting area is modern, well lit and spacious. First impressions make lasting impressions and the comfortable seating and relaxed atmosphere help to make what is typically an uncomfortable experience much more tolerable and pleasant. Your average dental office reflects the personality of the dentist which is to say most dental offices are boring and dull. Dr. Eidelson obviously put time and effort in the design of his office taking care to make sure a patient or potential patient is comfortable when they walk into the office. I'm not going to pull punches here. I have experienced a few above average wait times. Duh. It's a dental office, not a Starbucks. It's all about having reasonable expectations in relation to medical services. I would rather wait knowing that the dentist/doctor is taking his time with the patient before me then rushing people through. That is the difference between quality service and poor service. So what about the actual service? I'll be frank. I believe if you trace the history of dentistry back far enough you will discover it started around the same time as the spanish inquisition. Dr. Eidelson works hard to make sure you are comfortable from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave. He and his assistants, who are all wonderful (and deserve raises), will continually check with you during a procedure to make sure you aren't experiencing any major discomfort. There is no such thing as pain-free dentistry but having a staff empathetic to ensuring your comfort makes it all the more pleasant. I'm never switching dentists again and I recommend Dr. Eidelson to all my friends. read more

I had a terrible experience with Dr. Eidelson and am still paying the price for his bad work. I needed a crown and the first one that he placed cracked and fell out within weeks. When I needed it to be replaced, he told me that it was my fault that it had cracked because I was biting on it too hard. I may not be a dentist, but I imagine that crowns are supposed to be sturdy enough to stand up to regular chewing. When it came time to replace the faulty crown that he had placed, he was very rough, numbed my mouth without even warning me, and spent the rest of the time praising how wonderful his work was. When the new crown finally came, it didn't fit. Instead of modifying the bad crown that he had made, he started drilling down my healthy tooth above it to make space without telling me. Again, I may not be a dentist, but I would assume that you would want to drill down an artificial tooth rather than a person's completely intact and healthy tooth. Now, both the crown and my regular tooth no longer have a smooth surface because of his awful drilling. On top of that, the crown was much too big and my other teeth have started shifting so that my bite is completely off now. I recently started having pain in the tooth itself because it has caused so much strain on my gums that it hurts every time that I bite down on it. Now, I have to find a completely new dentist to replace the terrible work that he had done. I'm hoping that third time is a charm, my guess is that anyone else will be better than going back to Dr. Eidelson. Please do not waste your time getting any serious dental work done with him. read more

Dr. Eidelson's dedication to his patients goes beyond any care I've ever experienced from a medical professional, ever. He routinely exceeds my expectations with his kindness, thoroughness, and concern for my progress (I experienced trauma to my mouth and needed a series of cosmetic dental procedures). I count myself truly blessed to have found him, and have just helped a friend make their first appointment with Dr. Eidelson the other day. A great dentist is hard to find, and Dr. Eidelson is truly a great dentist, in every sense of the word! Side note: Dr. Eidelson recently took a (short) trip to Germany. While he was away I experienced some issues with my temporary crown. Unbeknownst to me, his daughter (who is also a dentist) sent him an email concerning my situation. He used his resources to call me from overseas, and also had his daughter meet me the very next day at a time convenient for me (which happened to be 8:00 that night...outside of regular hours). I have been a patient of Dr Eidelson since 2010. He has been with me through cavities, a gum lift, night guards, root canals, an implant and a litany of crowns. I have very tiny teeth, I grind and have TMJ. My mouth isn't easy to work on.. And, when people see my smile, they can't believe it's cosmetic work. My teeth look natural and are just the right shade of white! He is a very patient and accommodating dentist and entertains my every question, quirk and nagging request! I was a dental assistant in college, so I can ask quite a few questions re procedures. He always makes time to answer them all. Tefta has been my dental assistant throughout my time at the office. It's always fun to catch up on my latest hair color, my pets, home renovations, perfume obsession or skin care product. She helps keep me at ease when I'm in the chair and is always there for a chat if a procedure is running long or if I'm in a bit of pain; I've had a lot of work done and sometimes I come into the office with pain! Both she and Dr Eidelson are always supportive; even when I cry (yes, sometimes I'm a whimp when it comes to the drill or needle). It's a fast paced office; they don't like to turn people away if they are in pain.. Regardless of the pace, the quality and service is always really great! From my initial phone call, in which I spoke with Meg, who was amazing, to my actual appointment I am amazed by this office. I was recommended to it by a peer at Presbyterian Hospital and asked them twice if they were sure because I was off put by the cosmetic signs I saw when I walked by. I should have listened earlier because this office is amazing. I called them due to a dental emergency and the entire office was supportive and sympathetic. I cannot say enough how wonderful Dr E was. He got me a same day emergent root canal appointment and he went outside himself and tried to get me a cab. This will definitely be my philly dentist office from now on and I will rave about them to anyone who will listen. I had pain on my tooth but he brushed it off as inflamed gum. He did an xray and didn't detect anything. My intuition told me that's wrong. I went to another dentist for a routine cleaning and he saw and pointed out to me my decaying tooth despite that fact that I did not tell him about the pain. read more

Unlike previously visited dentists, Dr. Eidelson and crew didn't immediately suggest a plan to fund their next vacation after one look at my pirate teeth. In fact, they even complimented my previous dentist's work, and sent me on my way with a zero-cavity review. I must admit, I'm a bit skeptical, as it feels like "the first one's on us!" treatment. No matter, I'm happy! They have an office a block from my work in center city, and were able to get me in for my first appointment at noon within a day or two of calling. And turns out they even have Saturday hours at a South Street location. Pretty great. read more

I started going to Dr. Eidelson 10 years ago with a dental emergency. He was able to see me right away. Great teeth don't run in my family. Ever since my first visit Dr. Eidelson has gone above and beyond to transform my difficult teeth into something I can be confident in. With his great team of extremely competent dental assistants, hygienists, and dental surgeons he has been able to solve every issue that has arisen. This includes fillings, crowns, and implants all without changing offices. He has been so great that I got my husband to receive his gingivitis treatment in his office. He is one of the worst dentists that I've ever encountered. Do not allow him to put invisaline on your teeth. He shaved some of my teeth down to make room for his procedure. I now have more empty spaces then ever before. Not only was he expensive but he is incompetent When I called him he ignored me He never returned my calls. Stay away from him. read more

I had been a patient of Dr. Eidelson's for nearly 10 years then moved further away from the south street office and they ended Saturday appointments - so I attempted another dentist. Absolute mistake. Dr. Eidelson has a great, low key, personable team that have always taken care of my teeth and he never, not once, tried to sell me something I didn't need. In fact he once gave me a free whitening treatment for a long wait time. I completely took all of that for granted. When we moved further north, the other dentist I tried to sell a totally unnecessary procedure to my husband plus charged my 1 year old son $100 for basically nothing and incorrectly billed my insurance causing us to pay more than necessary. None of these things ever remotely happened with Dr. Eidelson, quite the opposite. They are honest, reasonable, and flexible. I'll be bringing the rest of my family! read more

I love my new dentist at dentistry 4 life- the crew at this dentist Offc are very friendly, patient, and courteous. I switched my entire family after my hubby went and they treated us all so nice when we went with him for his visit. They are very thorough with your treatment and they follow up with your by sending cards & calling to check on you. I like the personal attention they give & how they care. They treat us like family. I appreciate Dr. Eidelson's office, he is open on Saturdays, and has some late eveings, The Saturday appointments are great but understandably busy.The office is up front when scheduling appiontments, that there may be a wait on busy days. So it comes as no surprise to me when I request these days for appointments. Dr Eidelson takes the time to speak with every patient and explain their treatment. That is a quality i like and appreciate and is worth the wait,(unlike my previous dentist who did't explain anything to me). I proceeded with Invisalingn treatment and I am very happy with results. He explained in the beginning the lenght of treatment and possibility pf the need for additional aligners. He admitted that sometimes this may be challenging for the patient, but I liked how he was committed to getting my teeth perfectly straight. His office is equipped with a lot of high tech dental equipment, and I enjoy his excitement about staying up to date with state-of-the-art dental procdures. In my case I'rather go to a dentist that is busy as opposed to never busy. This only show that he has lot of happy and satisfied patients, to say nothing of the enormous amount of experince he gains! My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Eidelson's since 2008. Initially, we were both going in twice a year for cleanings. We have always been happy with the office staff and could usually get an appointment at a time that works with our crazy schedules. Last year I decided to make the plunge into the world of adult braces. Dr. E. suggested a competitor of Invisalign, which is much more reasonable in terms of price. Unfortunately, they didn't work out. I never found them comfortable and had a hard time talking with them in. Plus, they took forever to come in. Dr. E knew I was unhappy (though they were cheaper than Invisalign, it was still a several thousand dollar investment). He offered a solution that I was very happy with. I am now on my 6th tray of Invisalign and received my first compliment on my teeth last week. A few things to note - the office does tend to get busy but I am usually seen right away. If you are going to see him for Invisalign, you do have to come into the office frequently to get your new tray which is sort of a pain. However, I live in the neighborhood so I could deal with it. Overall, I would recommend Dr. Eidelson for both routine dentistry and Invisalign. read more

As a first time patient, I had an awful experience at this place. I already had anxiety about going to the dentist and he made it worse. I read reviews ahead of time thinking it would be great but the dentist is VERY CONDESCENDING. He bragged about how he was a professor at Temple Dental school and when I had a concern about the process,he asked how old I was because I should know the process already. As good as it gets! Dr. Eidelson and his staff provided superior service with extremely short notice. It was US Open weekend, SATURDAY morning when I bit into an almond in a fruit salad and my temporary tooth broke. Ouch! I called my out of state brother who is an orthodontist and my out of state periodontist and they BOTH pointed me toward Dr. Eidelson...and I am forever grateful! I first placed a call to Dr. Eidelson's office to ensure that if I traveled there would they see me. His staff was knowledgeable, empathic, understood the situation, and put Dr. Eidelson on the phone to assess the situation. Did you get that? I talked to the doctor - on the phone! Wow! I knew I was in good hands. He invested quite a bit of his busy Saturday morning time managing my expectations, making sure that I knew the limitations I would be facing, then we mutually decided to give it go. I traveled there, (got great directions from the doctor himself) and once arrived, completed paperwork and was in the chair within minutes of our arrival! I was impressed. Dr. Eidelson has a delightful chairside manner, and put me at ease immediately. He kept me informed of what my options were along the way so that we could make the best decision in this situation. He worked quickly and efficiently. In the end, I no longer had a gaping hole in the front of my mouth, but instead had a beautifully matched temporary false tooth that he creatively created on the spot! Wow! I was indeed delighted with my experience, and even more so when I returned to Texas today, saw my regular periodontist and he commented on the excellent work that Dr. Eidelson did! He shaped the false tooth well and in a manner that supported some sensitive gum tissue. He did GREAT with color matching, and secured it in a manner that made it safe for me to actually eat something other than Jello. Overall, I can only tell you that my experience was absolutely OUTSTANDING and his professional approach to dentistry is appreciated by the periodontist who inspected his work this morning! IF I lived in PA, I would surely have him as my dentist hands down! read more

Dr. Eidelson went out of his way to see me on a Sunday, on his day off, the day before leaving for a long-overdue-vacation. I had fallen off my bike and had broken a tooth, and was worried about possible nerve damage. He opened his office just to see me, gave me the most thorough, realistic rundown of what procedures would and might have to be carried out, and I walked out less than an hour later with a new temporary cap whose color could not have been matched more perfectly with the rest of the real one. (Dr. Eidelson has an uncanny ability for matching tooth shades at a glance.) He alleviated all my worries by presenting the facts, including cost rundown, by giving me the best most efficient and comfortable treatment, and by having his wonderful assistant by his side to further explain things from the perspective of a cosmetologist and non-dentist. They were both professional, kind, lacking ego, and imbued with a generous spirit. read more

I work in Center City and was having bad tooth pain today and wanted to see someone right away. I called this practice to see if they had an appointment available today so I could find out what was going on with my tooth. I only told the receptionist who answered the phone that I was having tooth pain and wanted to be seen. She said she had to go consult with the doctor. I was put on hold for a reasonable amount of time and when she came back she told me I had two options: that I could get a root canal if I wanted to "save my tooth" or that I could get the tooth extracted. I found this these options to be very extreme, especially because they had not seen the tooth or conducted any x-rays to determine what was wrong with it. I have never had a cavity before and it could have been that or my wisdom teeth attempting to come in, but they did not even consider these options when jumping to the conclusion of root canal or extraction. I was very unimpressed by this scare tactic used, especially because I know how pricey root canals can be. From the reviews, it seems like Dr. Eidelson is a good dentist but I would just be wary when calling and make sure you get a consultation before partaking in an expensive procedure. read more
