I was TOLD what procedure I was having not asked. I was informed I would need a root canal after having an adverse reaction to mouthwash they prescribed and sold to me. I informed Dr. Jackson I didn't want a root canal I just wanted to tooth pulled. After maxing out my insurance I was told that I could not complete the procedure until I had satisfied my balance. I insisted multiple times to multiple people in the office that I would prefer to have the tooth pulled but was given the same answer "We are in the business of saving teeth". I thought by going to a black owned and operated business that my concerns would be heard and considered but they were not.

While I was waiting for the doctor I noticed an elderly patient receiving help deciphering details of her insurance. I was very impressed by that. It shows the level of care and compassion Dr. Burl and her staff have for patients and members of the community. My exam was professional and thorough. I never felt the appointment was being rushed.
