After going through dozens of photographer profiles on Yelp and feeling thoroughly overwhelmed, I stumbled upon the reviews for Khushboo at Shutter Magic. Almost EVERY review mentioned how Khushboo made people feel comfortable and relaxed before and during their photoshoots. That was all I needed to hear. I was sold! And what an incredible experience it has been, right from Day 1! First, Khushboo has the dreamiest collection of maternity outfits. She encouraged me to try styles I would never have picked for myself, and patiently let me try on different options until I found the ones I loved. She also connected me with makeup and nail artists and even helped my partner choose his outfit. She genuinely took so much of the planning off my plate! Then came the location. I had a very specific kind of setting in mind, and Khushboo went above and beyond to find it. Not only did she scout locations that matched what I was looking for, she also visited new spots and managed to find places with beautiful flowers. In the FALL. In the BAY AREA!! I still don't know how she pulled that off! A couple of hours before the shoot, she was already checking in on me, reminding me to rest and hydrate, cheering me on as I got my makeup done, and generally getting me excited for something I had initially been quite nervous about. And during the photoshoot itself? She was everything those Yelp reviews had promised and more. She made both my partner and me feel completely at ease, never rushed us, and somehow managed to capture us exactly as we are. The resulting photographs were more magical than anything we could have imagined! I went into this experience wanting a few nice maternity pictures with minimal fuss. I walked away with beautiful memories, photographs I'll treasure forever, and a newfound appreciation for what a wonderful photographer can bring to the experience. Christine helped answer all our questions, allowed us to make special requests (like including our dog in the photo shoot!) and guided us on what to wear and bring with us. She was very communicative and friendly throughout the entire process. During the photoshoot, we were amazed at Christine's creativity and ability to pose us and our baby in the cutest positions with ZERO fuss. She had such a good eye for detail and the magical ability to move our baby around with ease. Moreover, she had so many backdrops, swaddles, and outfits that she arranged our baby in on the fly and each one was somehow more adorable than the next! We were very anxious to get our photos back and hoped that in our sleep-deprived state we weren't somehow over-hyping how great the photo session went. Luckily, Christine was able to turn around our photos to us in under 2 weeks and we were BLOWN AWAY with the results. I cried when viewing the slideshow and was so excited to download them all. The process was super easy: booked online, filled out a quick form when I arrived, and the photos were printed on site in less than 10 minutes. I also received the digital copy at the same time, which was very convenient. He is also incredibly precise. His eyes are basically lasers and can measure things down to the millimeter. He'll tell you exactly how to tilt your head so everything is centered. My mouth usually tilts to the right if I'm not paying attention, and he helped me adjust. I was honestly so glad to see my mouth centered in the final photo! It's a family business, and funny enough, about 10 years ago it was his dad who took my passport photo. Fast forward a decade, and the next generation is still making me look good for official government documents.
