They seem to always remember you no matter how long it's been. Dr. Weiss is super gentle and always mindful of any pain you may be feeling. Because of this, I have never had a negative experience while in his chair. The dentistry technology at this office is impressive and up-to-date. Not all dentists in the area offer the same modern methods as Dr. Weiss. The office itself is modern and comfortable. There are TVs, magazines, and a coffee machine in the reception area. The work areas are clean, organized, and the dentist chair is comfortable. Dr. Weiss is very knowledgeable, thorough, and detailed with his work. For example, he repaired a broken tooth of mine with a crown and was dedicated to adjusting it as many times as I needed until it felt perfect. I know I have recommended Dr. Weiss' practice to a few friends and family members and I'll continue to for anyone looking for a dentist in the area -- especially those who have had bad experiences in the past.

So I'll tell you two things about her practice that are not subjective. First of all, the various forms of payment she accepts are posted on a window in the waiting room, so you know before you see her what she'll take for payment. I took a photo of that window and have posted it here to Yelp. Second, when I saw her about a problem I was having with an old cap and root canal done by my former dentist, she took the time to sit next to me and drew on some scrap paper to illustrate what was going on with that tooth so I could follow along with her explanation. My former dentist didn't do that and I found this extra step very helpful. One more thing about Emily - her employees love her. My husband is a chatty guy and got to talking with the staff during his first appointment at Emily's office. He was told that she bought the practice from another dentist who retired (not the same guy I saw for 20 years) and they really like her better than the previous guy! I don't think they knew George and Emily were book club buddies, and the compliments were totally unsolicited.

I've known her for a while now, and after needing her help as a dentist, discovered that her dentistry skills are super impressive, as is her thoughtfulness, professionalism and ability. Her staff has these same qualities, and overall, for my part, I'm her patient for life. I recently had a dental emergency where I lost a whole crown. Dr. Weitz got me in fast, took stock of things and got me set up with a temporary crown and told me I'd have a new one inside of a week! Not only that, and this impressed me a lot, I got a numbing injection in my gum...and didn't even feel it! Now that, folks, is talent! As I said, not only is Dr. Weitz great, but so is her staff; they were kind, thoughtful and very helpful and skilled as well. (The lady who helped to shape my new temp tooth was really amazing and fast.) I have struggled with dental hygiene my whole life and as an adult I have tried to establish better…read morehabits, including regular visits to the dentists for cleanings and check-ups. I have tried a few in the area and none of them were right for me. I have anxiety issues and a gag reflex (which is made worse by the anxiety) and I've had everything from a dentist who walked out of the room because they thought it was "ridiculous" to the staff talking about me right outside the room and how awful it was to have me as a patient. I couldn't wait any longer because this year I started to have pain, sores and broken teeth. I read a lot of good things about GLD on my insurance's website and other places on the internet so I decided to give them a try. It was a life changing experience. The staff at GLD is awesome. Everyone from the receptionists to the dental assistants and the dentist/doctor himself are absolutely amazing. When I tried to get an appointment, the receptionist said it would be in three months. At that point I decided to try a new dentist since I was also unhappy with the quality of his work. Emerald dental care scheduled an appointment within three weeks. They would have taken me sooner but I was waiting till the next calendar year. The dentist cemented the crown after thoroughly cleaning it. So far after five months I have not had any issues with it. Also, I have found their billing to be very reasonable. Since my first appointment, I have had a cleaning and another crown repair on a different tooth. I am very satisfied.

I have had dental issues before and so, when she was suggesting a procedure to reveal more tooth, cutting away gum tissue, so casually, I knew this was really an oral surgery procedure, and she was NOT an oral surgeon. While she might have been able to do this, it would have been not at all in MY best interests in light of prior dental traumas and discomfort. She was told this and said she could give me a valium. A very imo, stupid suggestion in that while I am a young senior, I am at this time using a walker and anything that would potentially make me unsteady could lead to a fall and injury would be ill advised. It became to me very apparent that she was not the type of caring professional I anticipated and was too anxious to do a procedure that would not be in MY best interests though would bring in some income for the business she was part of. I did have a follow up visit because the night of the first visit, the tooth basically disintegrated when I bit on something, and I went back to see if the treatment plan was still feasible even though I would not have her do the initial care, which I had indicated would be likely since I knew an oral surgeon. While she still thought it was doable, I had happened prior to have a visit scheduled with my retiring dds of many years. And when she saw the tooth remains, in its current condition, she was shocked, and concluded as I had, that long term the tooth was not going to survive and what was left needed to be removed and potentially replaced. To think that I went out of my way at great expense (for transportation) for this "care". The other DDS in the practice gets good reviews. For routine care perhaps they are fine. But I will not be back. Even if I lived down the block, I would hesitate. This particular DDS only enhanced my general distrust of dentists.
