Every year for Mr. MVP's birthday I surprise him with an experience instead of a tangible gift. We…read morehave been married for 16 years and when we need something we simply buy it, so I like to give him surprise events and adventures (we actually call them birthday week adventures) that he can remember. This year his birthday adventure was a day at the spa. He has had a normal massage from a professional at the Healing Arts Center before, but he has never had a manicure, pedicure and facial. I wanted the whole package. I called an entire month in advance only to find out Willow Day Spa was booked. They were able to fit him in for a massage and manicure and pedicure, but they could not fit a facial in - I made the appointment. The price was around $200 for a 90 minute massage and a manicure and pedicure. I have absolutely no idea if this is a good deal or not. I'm just passing along information. I called the day before and confirmed the appointment because I had not received a confirmation call. I also asked if they had any cancellations for a facial and was told there was still no room on their calendar. The next morning I sent Mr. MVP off in the car with an address and wished him luck. He really enjoyed his morning. He said the staff was very nice and professional. The building was lovely and very clean. Mr. MVP is agreeable with everyone, but he was really impressed with all of the people he met and actually suggested that we go back for a day in the future for him and I. He then told me that the staff said they had room for a facial if he could stay until 2:00 p.m. This made me a little angry. I did not say anything to him because it was his birthday adventure, but I was told three times there was absolutely no way a facial could be worked in to the schedule. Ugh. Mr. MVP had a nice morning and it was a mostly simple scheduling process and I could make the payment over the phone. Willow Spa does have packages available, but I would recommend calling way in advance. I obviously did not give enough advance time on the calendar. **As a note for those of you who go and do get a massage and are smell sensitive. Mr. MVP came home and had the strongest scent of whichever oil Willow Day Spa uses. Even after he took a shower it was STILL there. The oil just hung around and would not leave. We have an almost scent free house because of my severe allergies and this smell was so strong it took over our entire house. After one more shower and changing the sheets the smell is finally gone.

Some plans we had made fell apart and we had some time on our hands so we went into the spa to inquire about massages and facials. You first notice how cozy and inviting the salon is and then you are wowed by the staff. Every person we encountered in the salon were very professional, and were more than accommodating. My mother opted for a facial, while my BFF and I had massages. My mom loved the facial that Kerry gave her, especially the little massage of the shoulders, arms, and hands. Her skin is still glowing from that facial. I am a avid believer in the benefits of massage and have been massaged regularly. I have never experienced a massage like the massage Kim gave me. I am in that stage of life where I am HOT (temperature wise) all the time. Kim used some cooling lotion on me and it was the most comfortable I had been all weekend. I reached a state of relaxation that has eluded me for years. Same for my BFF, her masseuse was Fran. The next day was our last day at the Resort and we opted to spend the morning having another massage before we left. Both my BFF and I are trying to figure out how I can get back there once a month to see these two miracle workers. If you have the opportunity to stop into the 702 Spa, I would highly recommend it. You won't be disappointed!!!
