Trafford centre isn't for everyone. The traffic alone on weekends is likely to induce levels of hate for mankind you didn't know existed in the depths of your soul.
However if you have patience, Bill Murray to keep you company (in person or on your iPad) and can empathise on any level with the mass public on display there's a few decent places for foodies here.
I for one relish the drama on display when you congregate large numbers of people in a confined space. And let's face it compared to the grand bazaars scattered across Asia the Trafford centre is in comparison a peaceful safe haven.
Rice Shack is an incredible addition to our very own bazaar, offering magnificent food at, not quite street food prices, but a reasonable price none the less.
With the kitchen in full view and the hustle/bustle of the chefs rushing around, pans flaming, aromas roaming, Rice shack has added va va voom to the Orient food court.
Rice Shack will have those allergic to Maccy Ds and KFCs, who avoided the orient previously, coming back for more.
Yes, it's not a Michelin star (it's street food dammit) but sometimes you just wanna quick fix. There's no better place for guilty pleasures than this little joint. Expect me to check in here a fair few times in 2014 & reign supreme as Duke of Rice Shack! So go check it out, promise you, it'll be allrice on the night ;) read more
