He successfully defend an ex parte order filed against me during the holidays, and that saved my Christmas with my son. Over the years, I've witnessed a lot of other custody hearings before mine was heard. I've seen enough of those hearings to decipher the good from bad lawyers and Matt is the best I've seen in action thus far. I have never seen an attorney as tenacious and passionate in defending others as he is. From my experience with Cape Fear Family Law, they truly are a firm that will fight for you and not just represent to guide you. They are my Son and I's superhero!

Jeff Marshall and Sarah Privette represented me in a highly contentious divorce following an…read moreabusive 30-year marriage with a malignant narcissist. Sarah and Jeff are extremely knowledgeable in Family Law and they provided sound guidance every step of the way. They were highly effective during mediation with successful resolution of my case that appeared destined to go to court. They gave sound advice based on practicality and their wealth of experience. Sarah also successfully represented me in a Contempt Case filed by my ex-husband. With a history of abuse, it was extremely difficult for me to go through much of the legal process. Jeff and Sarah were patient and understanding with enough of a stern push to help me be able to complete the work for my case. With Sarah's background in Domestic Violence cases, she was extremely compassionate and provided the support and reassurance needed to get me through both cases. She is a thorough and dynamic litigator who covered all bases which led to a successful outcome. Sarah's experience, compassion and skill were unmatched by other attorneys I interviewed prior to choosing Marshall and Taylor. Her preparation and reassurance gave me the confidence needed to effectively testify in court when a year earlier, I could barely speak on the phone about my case. I only wish I had found Sarah years ago. There are no words to adequately convey the appreciation I have for Sarah and Jeff. If you are going through a divorce and especially if you have endured emotional, verbal, physical or financial abuse, Sarah and Jeff are a team you can trust. They will do their very best for you while unwittingly being instrumental in restoring your strength and dignity. I highly recommend Sarah Privette and Jeff Marshall.

I selected this firm based off the many quality reviews I saw online. I wish I had done more…read moreresearch as I would've ended up going to any other firms in the area. We needed to complete the final signing 3 times to get a valid document due to Marshall and Taylor making unacceptable clerical errors which made the documents invalid. They would not make it right with billing and proceeded to tell me I am on my own. For a firm charging $400 an hour we expected better representation and a higher quality product than we had received. There are better and cheaper law firms across the triangle, please do your research before making a decision with this firm.

I would like to recommend Nathaniel H. Cook (Nate) if you ever need a real estate closing attorney…read more We have purchased 11 homes and I have previously worked with closing/real estate attorneys for many years with careers in title insurance and mortgage banking, Nate stands out as a detail oriented, caring, intelligent, responsive and committed attorney. We had issues with our purchase and many unusual issues related to a new home build, Nate went above and beyond to answer our questions and advise us even though it was clear this was not normally part of the process he would need to advise on. I will be sharing his information to refer clients to him at every opportunity as I don't think you will find anyone better to assist you with your home purchase.

Not once did I receive any paperwork from the conversation they "said" they had with the insurance lawyer Seemed that the only contact was when I did the contact to the lawyer asking what was going on There is no proof he did anything at all After $20,000 to the lawyer NOTHING!!! I hate to leave a negative review, but I want to save someone from experiencing what we went…read morethrough. Alex Gillie was hired to represent us in a custody case. Her lack of confidence alone is enough reason to not have her represent you in important court cases. She cowers to other attorneys and stumbles across her words. Alex Gillie does not have the best interest of her clients in mind because she is not confident enough to stand up to opposing attorneys and fight for what is right. Each time she appeared in court, she looked sloppy and unprofessional in her attire and grooming. Everyone has to start somewhere, but Alex Gillie is in the wrong field. She showed up multiple times to scheduled court hearings completely unprepared to represent her client, leaving us feeling helpless. It was so bad, that she flat out said she was not prepared and my husband was left with no option but to represent himself on TWO separate occasions. Please do not put yourself through the mistake of hiring Alex Gillie. She is the opposite of who a person would need going to battle for something as important as child custody. I feel sorry for anyone who has made the mistake of hiring this unprofessional and inexperienced individual. Some people do not have the funds to hire a new attorney after realizing what they are dealing with, so save yourself and look elsewhere. I have heard Heather Kaemmer is amazing and comes highly recommended. If you can get her, GREAT!!! But do NOT settle for Alex Gillie if Heather Kaemmer is not available to accept your case.

Roseanna Horne is not a typical lawyer. But what sets her apart from other attorneys is that she takes the time to really get to know her clients and understand their circumstances because she truly cares about the people she represents. Many attorneys I have used in the past, or that friends have used, have just gone through the standard steps to get a mediocre settlement. Not Roseanna. She goes the distance for her clients because she understands and cares about their needs, and she knows the law, and she gets awesome results.

I do not recommend Roseanna Horne…read more None of my calls were ever returned, and the receptionist was rude and condescending, i belive these qualities to be practiced and common procedure due to the ease with which they were performed. After my initial consultation i was afforded by fate the time to decide a course of action, after reviewing all info and all sources, the best decision was not to dispute my divorce, as a precaution i though it smart to keep Mrs. Horne informed, as agreed upon by both Mrs. Horne and I, in case of any unseen issues or future issues, and indeed there was an issue that arose, and i called the Horne law firm, the receptionist answered and i was told that Mrs. Horne was not my attorney nor would she be, i was given no explanation, but i was assured by Mrs. Horne that she would be able to handle any divorce situation that i may have, however i was unable to inform Mrs. Horne of anything. I was led to believe i would be treated decent, and the difficult situation i was put in by Mrs. Horne and her office caused me extreme hardship that could have been avoided if i were dealing with decency and professional integrity, this treatment by the Horne office was curiously timed with the acknowledgment that my divorce was that of a same sex marriage, i believe that after my initial consultation was over and i left the office both Mrs. Horne and her receptionist made the co-desicion to discriminate against me for being gay, or perhaps Mrs. Horne and her receptionist are just bad seeds, for whatever reasons there was most definitely a major change in the way i was talked to and treated, it was nearly impossible for me to find an attorney at the last minuted, again an undue hardship i was trying to sensibly avoid during a very hard time for me, yet was forced upon me by the Horne Law Firm
