Deepdale Tyres and Auto Centre Date 25th February 2025…read moreWrong Milage Recorded -£2,800 Estimated Loss I went down to complain about the wrong mileage imputed at an MOT by Deepdale Tyres service on 20th February 2025 I went to their office to speak with the manager regarding the mistake that was made on the MOT they provided. I explained the mistake and stated I only noticed it because I was going to trade in my car and in doing so noticed the mileage that was recorded on the MOT for March 2024 was incorrect by over 28,000 miles being added, in accordance with the pedometer. This was something I probably should have checked, but I haven't done this before and had used this garage a few times for MOT's and other things, so had built up some trust there. I was shocked to be told that there was nothing they were willing to do, and that I myself must have tampered with the mileage. I was advised by the DVSA to contact the garage directly to resolve the mistake which they had obviously made, and they should have 4 documents in place. List included, Emissions print out (yes), Brake print out (No), Invoice (yes), Job card (no), Service Record (Yes), MOT Inspection sheet (No). They only had 3 documents, making it literally impossible for me to change the mileage as these all had been digitally imputed with the incorrect mileage anyway. The Garage had no manual written down documents of the mileage. They stated they don't have these items, it is all done online. I also have my own business and find this kind of unprofessionalism uncalled for and somewhat slanderous in nature, saying I must have tapered with milage. I said I would need to do over 250miles for 7 days a week, along with working on a normal day to accumulate this kind of mileage. I have been informed that the digital recording system would also have sounded an alarm as to the high mileage in comparison to previous, but this must have been by passed by the mot staff. This whole scenario is an absolute joke, just like Deepdale Tyres who are based on Campbell Street Preston.
