They failed and their management did not support when it was needed. Don't bother going here.

I originally came for a one-month stay but I enjoyed it so much I decided to stay for longer. The…read morehighlight was the customer service but overall I enjoyed all aspects! Food 3/5 Overall the food is good quality and very well made. The kitchen staff are friendly and always willing to help. There are only a few downsides, the first being that there is no menu for actually ordering your meal. Pro tip: If your food is cold, do NOT try to send it back. There are a variety of delicious milkshakes, the homemade strawberry flavor is the best, 10/10, I recommend! Entertainment 4/5 There is a full program of activities provided for your personal enjoyment. This includes yoga, art, bookclub, walks, and more. The highlight was a dance performance from the staff. Some of them did not appear to be classically trained but it was a free event so I can't complain. Amenities 3/5 There is a laundry room and unfortunately guests are expected to do their own laundry. The only problem being that the dryers do not exactly dry. Upon contacting customer services I was told that new machines would be installed the next day. This was four months ago, please see my review of Lowe's for more details. The bathrooms are good but only open at certain times and staff like to look before you flush. It's weird but they said it was all part of the inclusive all-expenses-paid experience. There are some complimentary meds available to guests. I'd rate the Phos-Nak 7/10 because it's good but not as good as other Phos-Nak I've had. Guest safety is a priority and there were two fire alarms during my stay. Unfortunately the first was my first night at 5am. As I stood outside in the snow, I wondered if it was some kind of weird hazing, "or" I thought, "maybe this is a regular occurrence designed to build character." It was neither, I was just unlucky. Customer Service 5/5 The customer service is excellent. The staff are all so dedicated and hardworking, and were so patient and understanding with my accent barrier *cough* heartburn. To enhance your stay they often organize 'spirit weeks'. I once participated in a 'staff meeting' during which most of us were wearing onesies and someone was dressed in Harry Potter pajama pants. Our attire, coupled with the fact that I had a milkshake in hand made the whole thing surreal. There is one particular staff member who stood out due to her tendency to eat off of others' plates. She once taught me how to insert my own NG tube, and pull it out! Just kidding, that stuff DEFINITELY never happened. Pro tip: If you want any privileges, I recommend poetry as a highly effective tool. In conclusion, I give Veritas 5 stars, 10/10, I highly recommend! It is a great place to recover, to grow, to learn about yourself, and practice stand up comedy routines. In all seriousness, this place helped me make progress that I didn't think I could. Thank you Veritas!

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!…read more I attended Veritas from November 2020 through February 2021, and years later, I am still not fully healed from the traumatic experience I had there. I still have nightmares about this place. During my stay, the facility felt more like a prison than a place for recovery. It was poorly run and extremely understaffed, and despite being in an adult program, I felt like I was constantly treated like a child. The rules and overall environment made an already incredibly difficult period of my life even worse. They are so incredibly unempathetic that it felt more like a torture chamber than anything else, to the point where I genuinely wanted to eat the 'forbidden slushy' (the gel inside the heating packs) just to secure my way out of that hellscape. While there, I developed refeeding syndrome, which they caused, which is crazy because they are supposed to be medical professionals. On top of causing a dangerous medical emergency, they actually expected me to pay thousands out of pocket for an ambulance to fix their error. When I told them hell no, they made me sit around and wait an absurdly long time before finally giving me a ride to Duke University Hospital in one of their vans, all while being completely rude and hostile about it. What makes it even more ridiculous is that Duke was literally within walking distance of the facility. I was stuffed like a Thanksgiving turkey, and by the time they finally let me go, I was almost 10 pounds over the heaviest weight I had ever been before checking in. Even after moving into their PHP and IOP programs, they just kept trying to "refeed" me. To make matters worse, at one point they ran out of my prescription medication, which caused me to experience withdrawal symptoms. I also felt trapped by the financial consequences I was told I could face if I chose to leave AMA. I went there because I needed help. Instead, I left with an experience that I am still trying to heal from years later. They can rebrand to 'The Emily Program' and change their name all they want, but I will not let a name change protect them from the 1-2 star reviews left on the original Veritas page. I am here to warn the masses that whether they call themselves The Emily Program, Veritas, or whatever else, they can NEVER BE TRUSTED AND WILL TRAUMATIZE YOU, NOT HEAL YOU.
