If I Could Give Zero Stars, I Would.
If you are looking for…read morea divorce attorney, especially during a vulnerable time in your life, I would encourage you to look elsewhere. My experience with this law firm was disappointing from beginning to end.
The consultations felt transactional rather than compassionate. I was asked what they could do for me and how I would pay. I also overheard a consultation with another person, and it sounded just like mine. It left me feeling that these consultations were more about business than understanding each client's individual circumstances.
Communication was terrible, almost nonexistent. I spoke to voicemail and Casey Davidson's paralegal far more than I spoke to Casey himself. I repeatedly expressed the urgency of my situation to the front desk, only to be directed to voicemail. His paralegal often had to wait on him for answers, and I sometimes went weeks without speaking to my own attorney. Toward the end, he began responding to some emails and occasionally returning calls, but sometimes it still took a day or two with me sending reminder emails for him to her back to me. Casey also reminded me multiple times that he had many cases and mine was not the only one. I understand attorneys are busy, but clients deserve communication, attention, and timely guidance.
Throughout my divorce, I experienced harassment from my ex. I asked about obtaining a protection order from the beginning but was told it was not a good idea. I followed that advice, yet I felt nothing was done to address my concerns. Police reports were filed, but I received little communication or meaningful support. I was also told the judge was unpredictable, which added to my fear. However, based on my own experience, I felt the judge was fair.
Mediation felt more like intimidation than guidance. I often felt pressured by statements that came across as, "If you don't do this, this is what will happen to you." I needed my attorney to explain my options and advocate for my interests, not leave me feeling afraid of what might happen if I disagreed.
What hurt most was that this was a Christian law firm. Scripture and references to Jesus were displayed throughout the business, and I genuinely believed I would be treated with compassion, integrity, and Christian values. I thought I would be protected and that someone would stand up for me during one of the most difficult periods of my life. Unfortunately, I did not feel protected, supported, or adequately represented. I placed my trust in this firm because of what it represented, and I left feeling deeply disappointed and let down.
The most disturbing experience occurred at the end of my divorce. On Wednesday, I went to the law firm to ask when my divorce would be finalized, and Casey told me Friday at 9 a.m. On Thursday, I went to the courthouse to find out where I needed to go the following day, only to be told that my case was happening right then. I went upstairs and told Casey I intended to go before the judge to stop the divorce so I could obtain another attorney. At approximately noon that day, I discovered that the divorce had already been signed. I felt blindsided, especially after being told the day before that it would be finalized Friday morning.
I also want to acknowledge the women working at this firm. In my experience, they seemed to be the backbone of its day-to-day operations. Meanwhile, I felt that some of the men carried an attitude of superiority, with egos as big as Texas. That was disappointing in an environment where clients should feel respected and supported.
Divorce is already emotionally exhausting. No one should have to chase their attorney for answers, repeatedly express urgency without feeling heard, or feel that their case is just another file on a desk. I needed communication, compassion, and someone who would genuinely advocate for me. Instead, I felt alone throughout a process in which I had trusted this firm to help me.
Based on my personal experience, I would not recommend this law firm. If you are considering hiring them, ask careful questions about communication, representation, and how your concerns will be handled before making your decision.
