Comfortable enough and secure, I did spot an MSP trooper go through once though he was using it as a staging area for a speed trap. Otherwise, there are only the lights of the trucks going past on the highway to provide any security, i.e., none. Lock your doors and keep to yourself, you should be okay. She probably saved us $20 in parking fees and lots of walking too! So much is closed because of the government shut down but my husband was able to get his national park pass stamped here and that was nice considering how many he has had to miss out on. This welcome center / rest area is just across the border from I-95 into Connecticut from Rhode Island. The restroom was reasonably clean. The welcome center is nice with many trees and a picnic area. There is a separate area for dog walking, too. There is a long entrance ramp with separate areas for cars and trucks. The car area has a mild turn that is useful for getting people to slow down from highway speed. A couple of loops help with that too.
