From all around Düsseldorf, you can see the tower. Even on a super cloudy day, there it is poking out above the skyline and over the Rhine. I was fortunate that on my third and final day in Düsseldorf, the weather cleared up. If it's cloudy or overcast, skip it. An easy €9 with absolutely no wait this afternoon though I did have to wait a little bit for the elevator operator to dispense some bottled water to his buddies and socialize with them for about ten minutes. Whatever. Other than that, I had a private elevator to the top. Well, not to the top top, just to the observation deck which stands at 170 meters - 558 feet. A full 360 degree view of Düsseldorf and it cannot be beat. I could see my hotel from there, the entire curving river, the wind turbines on the horizon and all the places I visited during my three days in Düsseldorf. I managed to time my visit just right with sunset and most of the windows were clean enough that I was able to get a great view. There is a small cafe and bar on the observation deck but you're not obligated to buy anything. Just look out the windows, take your pictures, and then ride the elevator back down to street level. Bonus fact: The blinking lights on the side of the Rheinturm indicate the current time. Hours, minutes, seconds. It is the largest digital clock in the world! Stopped in while on vacation. Made sure it was a clear day so we could get a good view. The entry is quick and easy. Up top there is a nice snack / drink bar. You can just pick a table and enjoy the view, snacks, and company. read more

This is a tower located next to the Rhein River in Dusseldorf, Germany. This tower is 789 feet tall with an observation deck at 558 feet. The view at the top gives a nice view of Dusseldorf, the Rhein River and the harbor area. I don't remember the cost but it didn't shock me when I paid for it and it is open late. There is a little coffee bar/snack bar up there and some tables to relax and chill out. When it is not crowded, you can see the place in as little as 15 minutes but why not have some coffee, chill out and enjoy the view? The view area is surrounded by glass so there is a sight glare and reflection while taking photos. It is not like the Space Needle or Empire State Building where you can stand outside in a gated area. read more

All the way up!!!!!!!!!! The good: no line!!! Zero lines. Zip! The views: super cool. You can see an entire city: harbor, burger town! Everything!! Super cool views from everywhere up on that tower. The a ok: how quiet it was. You can tell its not a very touristy spot from that. But that's a good thing. Its close to 800 feet tall. its quite stunning up there. The sun light makes it hard to see though. And you can pretty much go up and walk around the whole place in under 5 minutes. Its pretty small. They have one small bar up there. Think tiny!! Its trendy but tiny. I can see the river, the boats! You can just lay on the super thick slanted glass and watch the views. Watch out for the dizziness though. Besides all glass + views and a very tiny bar: this was a very short pit stop. If you come with a group at night : perhaps it will be more fun. Overall, good spot to visit if you want some aerial pictures and to kill time. The best part: elevator ride to that 168th floor!!! Whhhhhhhhat!! If they added more things to do up here: this could be a really happening spot. Otherwise: its a fun elevator ride with good views. All you need is about 5-10 minutes! No lines ever! read more

This might be the coolest thing about Düsseldorf. The city itself is relatively boring at the ground level, and while it's also relatively boring at 240.5 meters in the air, at least the view is pretty. You can see the layout of the whole city from up top, and it's actually pretty awesome. Definitely a photo opportunity type of place. It's fun to watch the cars and people on the streets below, and the various boats going up and down the Rhine. Apparently there's also a restaurant up here, which is evidently not just an American thing (capitalizing on great views by adding likely-overpriced restaurants and cocktail bars to the mix). I didn't eat at it though. I think there was a special advertising Sunday brunch which is a kitsch-y tourist-y thing to do, but to each their own. If you're in D-Dorf, I'd definitely suggest checking it out. Plus, it's only a couple Euros a person, which is a steal, compared to the Fernsehturm Berlin's asking price of something like 15 Euros. Rheinturm is the high point of the city, close to the river. As the one of the landmarks of the city, cool place to visit. I was there with my partner and friend. Unlike the popular tourist attractions we have been, we didn't really need to line up and wait, when we were there, the entrance was few people, we could just go straight to the ticket window to get out ticket, the regular ticket cost 9 euro, I think it was quite expensive to be honest, but it just for one time, and the view might worth it. so we decided to get it. With the lift we could get to the 168 floor just within 2-3 minutes, there was a bar right after we left the lift. The enter ticket we got just for the admission, no drink included, so we didn't order anything. The design of this place kind of reminds me the Berlin TV Tower, it isn't open air, for the people who want a clear and cool panorama shot, it would be a letdown. I think the view was quite great, we spent some good time here. I do wish they could have more programs on the top, beside just the bar and restaurant. It just seems a bit lack of thing to do, I meant, the admission wasn't cheap. read more

Have you been to the top of a really tall building (e.g. Empire State Building, Sears Tower, or the Space Needle?) Yeah, me too. So, what was so special about paying 3,80 EUR to go to the top of the Rhine Tower? For one, you get to see over the huge Rhine River as it lazily winds it way through Dusseldorf. Secondly, it was roughly only $5 USD which is a steal as far as paying to go to the top of tall buildings (the Empire State Building will set you back well over $15, and I recall the Sears Tower being close to that, too.) At the top. they have descriptions of all the different places you should be able to see from that particular part of the tower. It was cool to see planes taking off from the Flughafen (aka - Dusseldorf Airport.) If you're here in the city and won't be coming back to Dusseldorf for a while, make the trip up to the top. If you're afraid of heights, of course, I wouldn't recommend it at all, but otherwise, you'll have a good time up there for about 30 minutes. read more

As you've probably read in the other reviews, the views of the city are fantastic. The reason I'm only giving three stars is this: they no longer allow you to go only to the observation deck. I'm not absolutely certain if this is a permanent change, but at least currently, you must go to the restaurant, where your 12,50€ entrance fee gets you a slice of cake and coffee. For whatever reason, they still have the observation deck pricing (4€) at the front counter. This leads me to believe that this is temporary, but the person at the counter didn't clarify for me. In any case, the cake and coffee are actually pretty good, but it just feels like a scam to not offer the option of going up just for the view. The seating area revolves so you can see the entire view while seated. If so inclined, you can always walk along the ring that surrounds the seating area so you can take pictures and enjoy the sights at your leisure. If you're in the mood for cake and coffee with the view, the cost may be worth it. If you're not hungry or in no need of a dose of caffeine, you may want to pass. I would suggest calling to see if the observation deck only option is available. read more

We celebrated an anniversary here, and the views of Düsseldorf were lovely. I would have loved to see a nighttime view, but we came during the summer, where the sun didn't set until 10 pm or so, so we unfortunately only missed the night skyline. The food was good albeit overpriced- I get that we're paying for the view and atmosphere as well, but I would like to see the food quality and taste match its pricing a bit better. Although the revolving concept is a great idea, I was quickly over it- honestly felt a tiny bit nauseous or dizzy. Maybe it was psychological, and it wasn't TOO bad- I could still enjoy my meal. But just a forewarning for the sensitive people. :) All in all, a nice experience for a special occasion. read more

One of the cooler things to do in Dusseldorf. For a few euros you can take the elevator to the top of the tower and get some very nice views of the river and the city. My 1 year old loved leaning against the glass and peering down at the river. There is a cafe at the top of the tower where you can get food and drink. You could definitely spend an enjoyable hour-ish at this attraction. read more

Great view from the top of the tower and lets you see the city laid out beneath you. Not a great deal to do up there but they do serve local beers! Reasonably priced and worth a visit - the open top bus tour stops here. read more
