This very pretty thoroughfare is the high end shopping district of Düsseldorf. Every haute couture and fashion name brand is here, whether it's Huge Boss, Mont Blanc, Tiffany, Versace, Prada, Hermès, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Georgio Armani and the like. Düsseldorf isn't Milan or Paris or New York, but there's money here to be spent for big money on everything from fur coats, clothing, electronics, luggage to jewelry and fragrance. Königsallee is literally "King's Avenue" and it runs for 1000 meters with a lovely landscaped canal between the two sides. Check out the Tritonenbrunnen where it crosses Theodor-Körner-Straße. Koenigsallee is the "big shopping street" in Dusseldorf. It's not THAT big, maybe five or six blocks long, with shops only on one side of the street. It's very high end in general, despite the omnipresent H&M. There are several Rolex dealers, Armani, Vuitton and just about every other international luxury brand plus some interesting local boutiques. A big plus is the peaceful canal running town the center of the Allee. Lined with shady plane trees and benches, it's a great place to sip a coffee and come to terms with the consequences of your spending spree. Why 3 stars? Bottom line, 5 stars is the "best" and Koenigsalle is nice without question. But it's not the Champs Elysees, 5th Avenue or even Michigan Avenue in Chicago. read more

I visit this city so much, I recently had to lease a flat. When there, I walk through Königsalle everyday - a 1/2 mile romantic dream-like canal that is typified by municipalities throughout Europe. A solid 4.4 stars. Imagine a high-end commercial boulevard dotted with celebrity status sidewalk cafes interspersed with luxury apparel, watch and jewelry shops. Inside a host of Paris-styled malls you find 4 - 5 star restaurants. If that's your taste (if only for once in your life) then this will enact that paradise. What is NOT paradisal, is the constant ongoing construction work; the cleaning of statues, fountains, sidewalks, buildings and subsequent lingering smell of raw sewage. I fully understand that maintaining such a historic area is a laborious and time consuming effort with major amounts of overhaul; But the one thing that could easily be thwarted, NEEDS to be stopped, is the barrage of speeding luxury cars. LOUDLY revving engines right next to the aforementioned outside cafes in an attempt to advertise the magnitude of their purported fiscal prowess; while simultaneously proving the opposite in comparison to the minuscule real estate of their combined male member. My advice for the nouveu-riche male visiting Königsallee: More Viagra, park your car. read more

Königsallee is one of great place to have a walk, although it isn't some huge famous parks. It's just great to walk around here, really peaceful. There is the shopping street at one side, and the old town at the other side. I like that the green in the center, people could just enjoy the nature a bit. Königsallee also be called "Kö", cool name. This isn't a place must visit in Düsseldorf , but it got its own charm. read more
