Wir konnten noch nicht mal unsere Sachen (Fahnen, Pullover, leere Getränkeflaschen usw.) vernünftig packen oder das Abschlusslied, welches von Platte gespielt wird und (zumindest gefühlt und inoffiziell) fester Bestandteil des Tourprogramms ist, genießen. Jugendliche/Kinder sind hier gar nicht willkommen. Unter 12 Jahren kommt man nur mit Kapselgehörschutz rein. Vernünftige Kinder-ohropax, die bestimmt besser dicht sind als zu große andere Ohrschützer, werden nicht akzeptiert und man muss trotz Ticket draußen bleiben oder wenn man Glück hat noch irgendwo neue (billige, die dann gar nichts taugen) aus dem Baumarkt kaufen. Ist angeblich gesetzlich so, dann haben sich die anderen 30 Clubs in den letzten zwei Jahren wohl nicht an die Gesetze gehalten?! Waren noch viele andere Probleme mit den Türstehern/Security Personal. Sowas schlechtes und unprofessionelles habe ich noch nie erlebt. Schade, so macht man einen ansonsten schönen Club kaputt.

It's not very well located, i mean for what people in Cologne are used to, a bit far, "wrong side" of the Rhine, etc. But it's really cool, looks like an old warehouse made to a club. Really underground from the way it's done, somehow a Berlin-style club. If you are into alternative not mainstream stuff full of college kids, this is the place to go.

I remember doing shots of Tequila with many of the regulars mimicking Jack Nicholson in Easy Rider. I also played the Irish Pub in Saxonhausen district of Frankfurt and in Fulda. I also recall with a smile a huge body builder guy that used to come in that drove one of those little Nash Metropolitan Cars. I could never figure out how he even got in the little thing . Thought I'd add an English review, for non-German-speaking travellers visiting Frankfurt who like…read morethe Blues ... we had a great night at Orange Peel. The entrance off Kaierstrasse might cause you to look twice - go through an old passageway, on your right is the cloakroom and up the stairs is the Orange Peel bar itself. Unlike many other places in Frankfurt, this is an easy-going, un-self-conscious venue, with a friendly atmosphere, unostentatious interior and broad mix of clientele. We got there just after 9pm for the Tuesday blues night, and the crowd (thin at 9.15pm, packed out by 11.30pm) was a mix of students, middle-aged types, hipsters and grey-haired blues fans. The booze was pretty cheap and the bar service was quick and friendly. No food - eat before you come! Most importantly, the music was very good. The house band played for an hour, serving up well-executed blues tinged with a hint of funk - one or two standards (like Hoochie Coochie Man, which they nailed) and some rarities. Although the leader is Tommie Harris on drums, the MC'ing was done by the guitarist, who chatted away to the crowd in a mix of German and English (at least half of the band are originally from the US as far as I can tell). The second half of the evening was 'open stage' with all comers welcome to join the house band for a number or two. Fun times; we were sorry we had to leave before the night was over. The crowd were still cheering on the band and the open stage guests, who ranged from OK to excellent. If you bring your guitar, and you know the opening licks for 'Jonny B Goode', then you too might be able to join in ...

The events hosted there come in a wide variety. From classic rock to jazz, from heavy metal to hip hop, there are events for everyone. We got there by car and had no problems to find a spot to park. The parking lots around are big enough. I just can't complain, I had a pretty good time there.
