Best Boudian hands down. This is like the boudain that your grandma used to make. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

If you are coming to Louisiana you have to go to Poche's! I'm so glad we didn't miss out on this…read moregem! We did get there very early talking before 10am they were so sweet and amazing still letting us order what was available and answering any and many questions we had regarding food options. Service was 5 out of 5 for our first moment in LA everyone was so kind and made our journey so worth it. We got the crawfish fettuccine with the Crawfish dressing and regular rice and an amazing biscuit. (Honestly I could order a dozen just for the road back) All the food was a 10 out of 5 and so sad I don't live closer as I know I will be dreaming of this food for the rest of my life! They have other food there like a grocery store and really thinking of going back just to buy some for the freezer for when I miss it most. And always like to take a moment to talk about the restrooms and when going to places like that I don't expect the nicest bathroom but they shocked the mess out of me. By far the best restrooms. If there is a way to give a place more then 5 I would give them 10 out of 5 over all!!! Will be coming back!

I took the Route 411 exit and headed towards Frogmore to catch Highway 190 through the heart of Cajun Country - there is so much to see and memories to reflect upon traveling this historic route, to most it might seem somewhat boring but the sugar cane, rice fields and crawfish farms are beautiful in my eyes. This part of Louisiana still has my heart and still represents the culture I still cherish and is home to the people I love. The scenic drive across the Atchafalaya River at Krotz Springs through Opelousas brings you to Eunice a community built on tradition where contracts are still sealed with a handshake and you always get greeted with a hug and a kiss. It would be impossible for me to drive through here without stopping for some boudin or cracklins so where better to go get some authentic Cajun cuisine than at the Eunice Superette on a Saturday morning. This place never disappoints the delicious smells of something cooking in the back surrounds you as you walk through the doors and that all familiar sound of that glorious Cajun Music piped throughout the store makes it impossible not to smile and puts a little two step in your gait. Taking a tour of the meat case is a tour you'll likely never forget, most of the offering are seasoned, stuffed and smoked and the aromas permeates the glass case it seems. The meats here are butchered locally with great care, the cuts are traditional and not something you'll find at most retail groceries outlets. Today my interest is in the fresh hot cracklins a little snack for the road - this uniformly chopped pork belly is like nothing else on the planet the fat is rendered down until the finish product is crispy then covered in a spicy cajun seasoning and placed in a small brown paper sack its absolutely delicious- my dad made these at home long before they became a delicacy fetching twenty dollars a pound. The staff here was so friendly and probably family, always providing more than you'd ever expect and always a greeting with a big smile and a goodbye with a "take care now". There are somethings you hope will never change and this is one of those treasures that still feels like it did when I was a kid. This is what a hometown business should feel like...
