Contractor was hired to remove and replace two sets of customer-provided entry and storm doors,…read moreremove and replace two sets of entry stairs, install a new sliding glass door, and install a new deck. This included outside wrapping and inside trim for all doors, concrete disposal for stairs, and all dirt work for deck. Contractor started work a little more than a month after the contract was signed. Contractor did not show up when scheduled, and did not make contact when needing to change the schedule. Contractor installed doors incorrectly, and even after issues were identified by the city inspector, contractor would not make contact to correct issues. Multiple attempts to contact contractor (via email, text, phone, and certified letter) received no response. Entry stair and deck work was never started, and contractor abandoned the job. Contractor did not return the deposit provided (over $12000) when asked, even though the only item purchased was the sliding glass door. Bad installation of doors will require upwards of an additional $4000 to correct. Based on my experience, I would NOT recommend this contractor.

Be very cautious of this company, especially a lady named Bea and Mitch. Nobody seems to be on the right page either. Look else where for your fencing needs. Cheaper isn't always better! In response to Mitch Kirsten's comment, I am upset that the court decided in your favor but it would be great for the public to have an understanding of what led up to the courts decision. Bismarck Fence and Deck scammed me into signing their contract even though Mitch Kirsten knew very well that I was financially approved to have my fence done through Enerbank USA. So as I've stated above that they pushed me off continually, I went ahead and terminated my loan with Bismarck fence and deck and went with Dakota Fence which I am loving everyday considering I'm making payments on a $17,800 loan. I was even more detoured from Bismarck fence and deck because Enerbank USA contacted me asking how I am enjoying my fence and I replied back to them saying they had not started anything in my yard which Enerbank very quickly terminated the funds they were trying to obtain. Enerbank has terms for contractors which include funds are only distributed upon 100% of customer satisfaction and finished product. They also considered this fraudulent but nothing legally could be done because funds were stopped. Just a few days later Bismarck fence and deck was upset that I canceled with them and they also drove past my house and seen that Dakota Fence came and started work. Bismarck Fence and Deck then said I owe them a 30% restocking fee because I signed an contract with them. I told them I wasn't paying it because they pushed me off week after week with lame excuses which I'm assuming since they hadn't got the money from Enerbank. I then received small claims court papers in the mail a few weeks later and the judge ruled in Bismarck Fence and decks favor solely for the reason I signed their contract and have to pay a little more than $3,100. So I will take this as a learning lesson to read what you sign but people should still be skeptical of this contractor because of how they conduct business. Please feel free to do an ND Courts public search on Business owner Beatrice Streifel, she is no stranger in taking people to court as she seems to sue anyone! Oh and of course it's public record Mitch Kirsten and Beatrice Streifel, it's just a shame the public isn't able to see what actually led to the judgement so that is why I'm explaining. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau as well. And as for all these other people's reviews, I honestly do not know who they are but I have informed a lot of people I know not to conduct business with these people and to pass along my story of unfortunate hell.

We are now '9 weeks' past when he came over to review and verbally accepted the job; we STILL have not received his quote and have since gone with another reputable contractor. For someone who claimed to be a VET am VERY disappointed at his lack of follow through, integrity, reliability and question the quality of work. If he decided he was unable or no longer interested in performing the work it seems we should have been contacted when that decision was made. Would NOT recommend going with this company.
