The parking lot usually has spaces available, unless you happen to be there at lunch on a busy work day (in which case you wait in line to enter the lot as other customers leave). After you purchase your groceries, hand the cashier your parking ticket and they will validate your ticket for you. Assuming you've spent less than an hour in the lot, you won't need to pay for parking. Rather than trying to buy groceries on an empty stomach, you can buy a cup of tea or coffee and a snack from the bakery and eat it at pleasant tables in front of the windows before you shop. Denn's positions the fruit and vegetables front and center as you enter the store, which helps me to get the staples I came for rather than less healthy snacks. The fruit and veg are of high quality and the store offers a good selection. You can get wild rice and red rice and almond butter and kale chips and Lavera cosmetics. There's also a great cheese counter. And did I mention the bakery?

This branch carries really nice seasonal fruit and vegetables and offers lots of local options for types of produce that grow in the region. If the produce you are looking for is not in season, you won't be able to buy it - the shop doesn't carry tomatoes that taste like cardboard or rocklike avocados or mournful-looking broccoli. You'll need to verify that what you need is in season before you commit to a particular recipe. I find this policy helps me buy fresh and local whenever possible. I often go to Denn's Biomarkt in Vaihingen instead, but I've picked up some fruit at Denn's that has turned out to be less than fresh. I've *never* purchased produce at Erdi only to discover that it is anything less than perfect. Erdi doesn't carry the same selection of produce from warmer climes, but you can rely on what they do carry. Erdi offers a nice selection of organic fruit juices. You'll find jams and honeys and peanut butter and almond butter, a wide variety of loose-leaf teas, granola, specialty rices and grains, organic dairy and eggs, organic hamburger and stew meat, whole chickens. There's ground lamb in the freezer compartment. They have quite a nice cheese counter and a small rack of baked goods. Lots of natural and organic household products such as leather conditioner, detergents for clothing, soap for the dishwasher, shampoos and cosmetics. Check your receipt to find out which glass bottles carry a deposit. (Fruit juice bottles, honey jars, and glass jars for milk and yoghurt are all candidates.) Bring those particular bottles back to the store to get a refund of your deposit.
