I was worried because they aren't seasoned travelers and my mom needs wheelchair assistance. I called Flagship, explained the situation and they were so accommodating. They didn't price gouge even though it was a pickup during a very busy Mardi Gras. They sent a confirmation to me the day before with the drivers name and cell number. I contacted him (Roger) with a question he responded very quickly. My parents were due to arrive today in New Orleans. I had not heard if they made it or if they found the driver. About an hour ago I got an email from Roger that they were on the ship safely! Thank you!!!

Our volunteer tour guide fabulously navigated us through the French Quarter, and despite the rain, shared great info on the particulars of Creole cottages and other structures. The guided tour was about 1.5 hours and ended at Antoine's for brunch. Brunch for the tour was in one of the back rooms at a community table for about 16 people. In short, we were away from the live music, it was a fixed menu for everyone, and (get this!!!) coffee was not offered. At BRUNCH, really??? Quite unbelievable, but yes, we requested it twice (before the meal) and the server never brought it, even when dessert was served. Would have gladly purchased it at their cash bar had it been available. We left Antoine's early in search of a great cup of coffee which we found at Brennen's, yay! French-pressed, it was awesome. Aside from this, the food at Antoine's was very good - I'll do a separate Yelp review on the food. Fortunately our Spring Fiesta day ended on a high note with the Home and Courtyard tour of five homes. Though self-guided, the tour was well-organized; a few of the owners were at home to host the tour. Again, we learned fascinating tidbits about each of the homes. Bottom line, if I had to do this over again, I would have purchased the tours alacarte, and would have made my own reservations at Antoine's, apart from the Spring Fiesta, for 1) a table in one of the front rooms with live music; 2) the opportunity to choose from a menu; and 3) a better chance at a cup of coffee to accompany our brunch, lol. Spring Fiesta is sponsored by a non-profit organization that is dedicated to the cultural preservation of the area.

Being from Phoenix we have a small historic heritage and very much love old homes. We thought the courtyards were amazing and beautiful. We learned a few things and visited one home of a realtor that had an amazing balcony and so many windows and natural light in the main living area we totally got the whole city living idea. We only got to see 5 homes on the self guided tour and many of the homes had the upstairs blocked off , or more than half of the properties living quarters closed to the tour. I can understand that, I had a home on tour in Phoenix and its ALOT of work to clean and put away valuable and have your home staffed. The other disappointing factor was how little period character the interior of the homes still had intact. The crown moldings were all there and detailed doors, but we were just expecting more of this historic tour. The city has done a great job enforcing the exteriors to remain period, but interiors of the homes have been altered so much much of the character and charm is long gone.I know its not a museum but a home. Thank you homeowners for allowing us into your abodes. We see how you bring the outside courtyards as an extension to your living area. I know this is alot of work for everyone that participated and I understand its hard to get homeowners to participate. Many thanks Spring Fiesta

We only had 5 days in New Orleans but wanted to see if we could squeeze in a tour of a plantation…read moreand the bayou. Dom's full-day excursion was recommended to me by the guide of our in-town private tours, and we couldn't have been happier with his services. Normally it's either plantations OR bayous, due to the great distance between them, but Dom came up with a way for us to do both in one day. I appreciated his insight into which of the popular plantations we should pick, and when he mentioned that Houmas House was the only one that lets you go inside the rooms, I was sold. We showed up for one of the first tours of the day and ended up being the only ones on it. Because Dom knew the tour guide, we got an especially personalized and insightful tour of the house. Houmas House has some of the best restaurants, which was important to us, and we really enjoyed our lunch there. We were also quite impressed with the company Dom chose for our bayou tour. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining, and the tour felt long enough that it really seemed we were getting our money's worth. Even better, on the way back to town, Dom let us take a quick detour into Mississippi because we'd never been there and wanted to put our feet in it. We had a brief but thoroughly enjoyable visit to the state's visitor's center. But the best part of our tour was Dom himself, and the incredible depth and breadth of his knowledge of the area. We had been hesitant to ask any locals about the impact of Hurricane Katrina, so we were particularly fascinated by his insight as someone born and raised in New Orleans who had lived through Katrina. By the end of our road trip, I felt like I had a much deeper appreciation for the city and its inhabitants than I ever could have gotten from a guidebook or a group tour. I highly recommend New Orleans Private Tours!

I thought our room was nice and was a decent size. Bathroom was decent too. The food was pretty good. Some of the nights at dinner, I didn't really care for the options but you can always go get something at the buffet if you want. They also have upgrades at the sit down dinner for an additional cost. There is a pizza place open till 4am (I didn't try it) and a Guy Fieri's burger joint. Hubby tried and said it was okay. Buffet was decent but we didn't eat there much. I thought the ship was clean and I didn't see any issues. Our steward kept our room really nice. The crew works hard and there was definitely one night at dinner where they seemed like they were having staffing issues. I have to give the crew a lot of credit. You can tell they work hard. I was disappointed in the shows on the ship. There were two different comedians that did shows and then one night where there was an actual show which was a bunch of people singing rock songs. They were pretty good. Otherwise everything else seemed to be a way to make money. Bingo you had to buy cards, Deal or No Deal which you also had to pay a minimum of 25 dollars. I get that they have to try and make as much money as they can but what happened to all the free shows? There was a ton of trivia things which were fun but you don't win anything. Spa has a steam room and sauna that anyone can use. You don't have to buy anything. This is also where the gym is. I got a massage one day which was very good. However, it could have been better. They don't play spa music in the waiting room rather they had dance music on. Not very relaxing. Also, whoever designed this ship most have been half asleep when he or she thought it was a good idea to put the kids club above the spa. The kids were running around like crazy and making so much noise, I was worried that I was not going to enjoy my massage. The noise was better in the massage rooms but you could still hear them. We did the chefs table on the last night. It was interesting because you got to go into the galley and see where the food was prepared. We got a few apps in the kitchen and then they showed us how to make the melting chocolate cake. Afterwards we went to a private room where we were served a sit down meal. It was very fancy. Wine was included with our dinner. We had an 8 course small plates dinner. The food is definitely different. If you don't like to try new things, do not buy this dinner. I enjoyed it but hubs and the kid did not. And at 80 bucks a pop, you don't want to waste your money if anyone is a picky eater. We were given a photo of the whole group to take home as well as the recipe for the melting chocolate cake. Overall, a decent cruise. If you like where this ship is heading, then go ahead and book this ship. I think you make your own fun and you can decide whether it will be a positive experience.

We chose a January 2024 cruise to get back in the cruising groove after having 2 cruises cancelled…read moreduring Covid in 2020/2021.All excited to finally get back on a Carnival Cruise Ship we haven't been on, out of New Orleans. We had a wonderful day and a half in New Orleans, exploring the sights and sounds and food.We parked free at the cruise port with Florida Disabled Vet Plates and used our Faster To The Fun purchase to get on the ship with our bags and in our room (8209) before 12 noon. I made the mistake of accepting a tropical drink in a plastic Blue Iguana cup by the pool and it cost me over $30. Our 1st dinner service was at a table for 2 upper level and it was so disappointing after the expectation we had from our 2019 cruise on the Carnival Vista. All our cruises have been at a group table of 6-12 people we could mingle with and get to know at all our dinner services, as well as the entertainment by the Wait Staff during the meals. The 2 top they assigned us was in an isle with people and wait staff walking past on both sides keeping the area very congested and not inviting. Our server at table 647 was way over tasked and really didn't give the level of service we had been accustomed to on prior cruises. Then the food came and we were blown away by the lack of presentation and such small portions. Shrimp Cocktails were basically 4 tiny salad shrimp and ketchup. My wife ordered the Braised Lamb Pappardelle Pasta and I ordered the Braised Short Ribs with mashed potatoes and green beens. The Lamb dish was just the name only with only a few strands of lamb in a bowl pasta. My Braised Short Ribs were also in name only because the ribs were tough and not braised for more than 30 minutes. After that meal I reached out to the Maitre D on the lower level and he was kind enough to to reassign us to a lower level 12 Top table 441 with Armando as our main server. What a nice change, because our service was on point, Armando and team made sure to keep us spoiled and entertained during our service. We met 4 other couples at our table, unfortunately 1 couple had the Flu a couple days in and eventually I caught the flu my last 2 days on board. My wife unfortunately became ill from digestive issues and only made 1 service at this table with me. My favorite meals included some of the Emeril appetizer and entree choices. It became a table wide consensus , the food quality has gone down extremely and portion size as well, while the cruise cost had gone up.The Carnival Glory was our 6th ship and by far the worst, even when my 1st cruise ship was the Triumph in 2012. The Glory was due for Dry Dock after our cruise and it was obviously due.The ship was filthy and in complete disrepair. Our shower flooded the 1st use, and the ship was dirty everywhere. There was an obvious Sewer smell on all levels throughout the whole cruise which was very nauseating and a topic of conversation on many elevator journeys. Our Room Steward Nyoman was very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed including Ice and keeping our bed updated more than once a day for my wife to feel better. Now this cruise was overshadowed by my wife's illness, keeping her from enjoying the cruise and ports. My highest ratings go to Dr. Mohammed Waris and his incredible nursing staff, Paul, Peter and Christine. Every member of the Medical Staff treated us both with such kindness and loving care, making sure my wife was comfortable and had anything she needed. No matter what time of day or night. I do credit Carnival for the Fast On and Off the ship. We also noticed so much more turbulence and shuddering during this cruise between New Orleans and Jamaica as well as Cozumel back to New Orleans. The weather leaving and coming back was not conducive to swimming and or sunbathing nor was use of the Serenity Deck because of the winds. Because of this we will not vacation by cruise ship during early months ever again.Bottom Line, Carnival Cruise Lines has completely lowered there standards and quality, resulting in us rethinking how we will spend another $1800 for a vacation.

Their pricing is definitely among the most reasonable and the fact that everything is included takes the pressure off of dealing with driver gratuity, etc. We rented three cars that day and had varying experiences with the drivers. The driver Glen who traveled our wedding party earlier in the day was probably the least competent. He took roundabout ways of getting to locations, chose terrible routes (driving on bourbon street), and went the wrong way a few times, blaming the fact he was behind schedule on my planning. He was perfectly nice but all of my party arrived late and irritated. Shuttle bus - We didn't have any direct interaction with the driver, but from what we hear everything ran on schedule. After-party driver - Frank was incredibly polite and the perfect driver. He knew when to chat and when to let us enjoy the moment (a rare skill these days). He was competent behind the wheel, accommodating when our plans ran a few minutes long, and a perfect gentleman. Overall, I would recommend the company. You may get a wild card driver, but dealing with their office was stress free and great.
