Clean store and polite pharmacy techs. Rexall is probably the Canadian equivalent to America's CVS pharmacy or Walgreens. CVS and Walgreens should take notes of cleanliness and professionalism from Canada's Rexall. If I had access to compounding pharmacies the same way Canadian citizens do, then I would go to a compounding pharmacy for fairer drug prices though. This Rexall seems to be one of the bigger ones: There are two floors. All the drugstore items and sunscreen are on the second floor. I was initially here around Dec 2018 and it looked like a relatively new store. Open 24h. I came back Jan 2020. It still looks new (which is a good thing). There are 2 floors: pharmacy at the top level and foods and cosmetics on the ground floor. Use an escalator between floors. I saw 3 self-checkout stations which I've never seen at any other Rexall that I've visited. read more

This Rexall location is a bit more cramped than what I'm used to for a Rexall location, but given that this is in Toronto downtown it's reasonable that the aisles are a bit more narrow here. This store had everything we were seeking and so I have no complaints about it. I don't recall anything else noteworthy though. It's nice to have this type of place available in this area. read more

Located right at the corner of College and Spadina this Rexall is bright and spacious spanning over two floors with easy to read signs and labels throughout the store. The layout of the store is very easy to find all products and they have a good stock of absolutely anything you're looking for. Plus they even have a decent size food area and a pharmacy onsite. Rexall has many discounts and clearance items on sale on a weekly basis in addition to the coupon available on the receipts. The staff are always friendly, fast and efficient, at times even engage in small talk. Definitely a good shopping experience and I never have any issues with wait times or finding products I need. This location is by far one of the better Rexall I've been to, plus they're open 24 hours. Don't forget your Airmiles card! read more

Lovely new Rexall on College and Spadina. This will definitely be a rival to my usual Queen West Shoppers! Downstairs has some fresh food, chocolate, cosmetics, a huge selection of nail polishes and some hair products. The food section had a lot of gluten free baking products which you don't find everywhere. The pharmacy is upstairs (via escalator) and has a large drugstore section with all your usual needs, a sitting area and blood pressure checking machine (my favourite!) in the corner. I chatted to the pharmacist when I was in yesterday and she was enormously friendly and welcoming. She'd almost make you feel better before even giving you the prescription. Major bonus? Rexall on Spadina is the pinnacle of convenience. It's 24 hours, close to the university campus, and close to restaurants. They have the usual selection of drug store items including snacks, toiletries, cosmetics, etc. I usually pick up shampoo and toothpaste here. Most importantly, the pharmacy on the second floor accepts student insurances and bills directly for any prescriptions. They also give a discount if you keep the receipt and spend more than $25 the next time you come within certain dates. read more

WOW - finally something pretty gets built at Spadina and College. Clearly the area is starting to gentrify. Firstly, this a double decker Rexall that is open 24 hours! It is really beautiful inside and out. The staff are nothing but friendly. There is a great food selection downstairs that is not over priced like at 711 across the street. For instance, milk is $3.97. That's really reasonable compared to what you pay in the general area. The pharmacist is super friendly and helpful. She helped me pick out a gel for my sore joints and was really great to speak with. This is a great addition to the area and I'm really happy it has opened up. read more

If there is a zero rating for the Rexall Pharmacy on Sheppard Ave. E./Birchmount branch I would rate it as that. First of all, they were so late in opening it should have been 9 am, Friday but they opened at 9:45. There was a very rude and arrogant very old lady staff of Rexall who was trying to shoo me away telling me that they're not open yet so I should come back in 10-15 mins. and she was making hand motions/gestures as if she was trying to shoo me away and get rid of me fast when another guy suddenly walked in whom I assume to be a pharmacist suddenly slid the doors open. So I came back and the lady didn't even say sorry or anything. I reprimanded her as soon as I got my meds but she replied sarcastically saying, "Excuse me!" Avoid that old lady staff (about early 70's I think) of theirs in that branch and look for someone else to attend to you. read more

Rexall at Spadina and College is a 24 hour location and I can safely say it is the cleanest 24 hour establishment I have ever been in.. anywhere. It is well kept, well stocked, the staff are kind, and... they accept Amex which warms my heart.. you know the points... Anyway, I regularly stop in for whatever it may be, as they have a bit of everything. Also, they usually have pretty decent sales on necessities whenever I am in. The best thing going for them is definitely that they are open 24 hours 7 days a week. For students I believe they have a special percentage off regular priced items if you have your ID with you on Tuesdays.. read more

I have to admit that I am writing this review because a "bad" incident occored, but I am giving 5 stars as I am impressed with the Rexall management how they looked into my incident quickly, and it's resolved within 24 hours. I was very upset to start with but I am no longer upset also I am quite impressed by Rexall's corporate culture and employee standards. This all happened on Thanks Giving Day evening my bf wanted some gummies. He insised going to Rexall even though I wanted to go to Shoppers. We went to Rexall anyways, and at check out, he asked for a plastic bag for the two packs of gummies. The employee ignored him, so he asked again, n the employee grunted at him had to wait for transation to go through first. Then she passive agreesively THREW a bag at him, he was bit thrown off by that but didnt react to it. So he asked:"Can u pack the gummies for me?" Then next thing I heard was :"Do you want me to polish your shoes and wipe your ass too?" "Excuse me!!!! What did you say!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ask for your manager, I NEED TO speak to your manager!" I was in disabelieve of what I heard first till I witnessed my bf's reaction of shock that I realized she really said that. And omg that's rude! As manager wasn't immediately available, I confront the woman:"What is wrong with you! I feel sorry for you treating ppl like that!" She looked at my face n said in cold voice :"Make sure you get checked up, you are obviousely mentally ill." Then she went to group of customers who were lining up telling ppl that we were giving her hard time for no good reason. Shocked! Hurt! Insulted! Humiliated! Extremely Angry! and Confused are exact feelings going through my mind, as we were trying to process what happened and making sense of what did we do to trigger her react so strongly over my bf asking for a plastic bag for gummies quietly, we really just confused and did not know what to do since it was so unforeseen and sudden. The manager came and the employee denied everything flat out. I tried to explain to the manager what happened, the employee cut me off and told my bf in front of assistant manager :"make sure get her check up, she has mental issues!" My bf just lost it at time seeing me being treated that way, we walked out of store as we couldnt take it any more. I made formal complaint to Rexall customer service when I got back. I tried to present what happened when my memory still fresh in order to describe everything accurately. I also made a phone call when I woke up and complained to customer service. 1 hour later the store manager Danny called me back and sincerely apologized for what happened to us last night. My anger and hurt just melt away. Danny reviewed incident with assistant manager and told me the employee was no longer working for the company that the company wouldnt tallorate such behavior towards customers. He also invited us to come back to store and offering us a small gift card for appreciation. I feel bad that the employee lost her job over this or maybe she did not want to admit guilt that she walked out of her job, but I think she was a fully bully she wasn't happy herself so something maybe tipped off when my bf asked her for a bag for two packs of gummies. Maybe she over worked on Thanks Giving Day which seemed short staffed at store. What me and my bf experienced was nearly traumatizing. However, I am just as impressed that the Rexall Customer Service listened to my phone call carefully and made me feel welcome, they effectively pass the concern to higher rank management and also the management took it serioiusly to make me feel welcome again. I told them on the phone I am going back there tonight. Yes, its okay problems happen, but lets resolve it effectively! I love their corporate culture, 5 stars is what they deserve. The young cosmetian gave me wonderful customer service. I walked in to buy the balm products since I saw in the flyer that it was on sale. The young lady saw me looking at the balm display and said that if I wanted to try something out that I can ask her since they have more stuff that isn't out. I asked if the balm is on sale and she told me not everything is. I was disappointed and turned around to look at physicians formula. I decided to buy a highlighter by PF but I asked the cosmetian if the balm has more highlighters. She showed me more colours and she let me swatch all of them. She was very patient with me. I really appreciated her customer service that I ended up buying the $40 highlighter. read more

This place sucks. I swear I'm not (normally) a crazy person who gets off on writing lengthy negative reviews on Yelp, but this Rexall is really exceptional. (To quote an earlier reviewer on this page, "REXALL, what have you made me into??") That's my thesis, here are my reasons: 1. Most importantly, the customer service is s***. I've bought stuff here maybe five times since it opened, and on two separate occasions, employees lied to my face: a) A cashier (who looked to be in her mid-twenties) straight up told me she was UNABLE to void a transaction, presumably because she was too lazy to either do so or find out how to. No joke. I was reaching into my wallet for cash, but changed my mind and asked to pay by debit, and she told me she couldn't change the method of payment. I told her I "didn't believe her," and she conceded that she could, but that it would be a hassle for her. b) The manager on duty at the time (who looked to be in her thirties) told me she COULDN'T issue a refund for a pre-packaged sandwich wrap that had spoiled because I didn't have a receipt, again presumably due to laziness. She told me the best she could give me without a receipt was store credit. She also pointed out that I'd bought it a day before the expiration date printed on the label. The wrap was from some third-party supplier, but of course that should make no difference. I (finally) got a refund when I essentially started to make a scene (though that wasn't my intention): I asked the cashier who had rung me up if she had a receipt, and she started presumably rummaging through some bin full of paper receipts below the counter. At the point where a second cashier started to help her, I told them it was OK if they couldn't find it, but they insisted. Presumably to avoid having to tell off her employees for trying to be helpful, in front of a line of customers, the manager looked up my purchase on the record of transactions on the computer, and refunded me. Of course, by doing so, she made it clear that she had lied to my face (and stuck to that lie for a while). 2. Less importantly, their stock is pretty idiosyncratic from my experience. In the approximately half-dozen times I've been, they've had some inferior (though not necessarily cheaper) version of the product I was looking for, and not the product itself: a) They sell regular Cheetos in a 300-odd-gram bag, but only sell baked Cheetos in a box of like six 20-gram 100-calorie "snack packs" or whatever. I'm quoting the numbers here from memory, but the point is that the baked Cheetos were about three times the price per unit mass. b) They sell threader floss, but not floss threaders. For the orthodontically uninitiated, the former is pre-cut lengths of dental floss, with one end that's firm enough to poke through gaps between teeth, to floss at the gum-line if you have braces or a permanent retainer or whatever in the way. The latter is just that firm end, with a loop at one end to hook around a length of regular floss. While there's no inherent problem that I know of with threader floss, whenever I've bought it (including from this Rexall), the non-firm part of the gloss sucks. It's this spongy stuff that frays and doesn't move easily. In contrast, floss threaders work fine, from my experience. c) They sell boxes of mac-and-cheese from Annie's (a brand) that look to be essentially Kraft Dinner, but they don't sell the classic Annie's mac-and-cheese (labeled "Shells & White Cheddar," in a purple box). This stocking choice is odd, because anyone who was willing to pay a premium for Annie's (with the substantially cheaper Kraft Dinner sitting right next to it on the shelf), would probably want the classic kind. 3. Least importantly, they're really pushing this promotion now where they give away like-half-liter bottled waters. I've seen salespeople handing them out to pedestrians, and I've been offered a free bottled water with a food purchase. It's just annoying. And, like the individually-packaged and boxed Cheetos, it doesn't exactly project a commitment to be environmental. read more

Very nice, two-story Rexall located at the intersection of College and Spadina Streets. As one of the few Rexall locations open 24 hours in Toronto's downtown core area, this location is sizeable and the aisles are not cramped like most other Rexall locations. Cashiers on first tend to be slow, however the pharmacy on the second floor is really good. Please make sure to print your $5 off a $25 purchase coupon before going to the store to save yourself some money (just Google the words "Rexall $5 coupon" along with your current year; e.g, "Rexall $5 coupon 2017"). read more
