Rexall - Curling irons and more

Tips: - This store has the largest selection of…read moreincontinence products. - Staff are exceptionally friendly. On Saturday, I was running a bunch of errands. I was on a mission to find incontinence underwear for my mom that doesn't irritate her skin. We are fairly new to incontinence products. I got two types of Depend underwear products for her a few months ago. One of them has caused a lot of itchiness for her recently. The other has been great, which is the Depend Silhouette. I wanted to stick with getting this specific brand and type. However, it wasn't on sale and she wears a medium, which I had tough time finding. I was in the eastern part of Markham, practically at the border between Markham and Pickering. I did a search for a Rexall and found this location. Perfect! The drive over here was great. I took backroads, which I always find relaxing. This Rexall is in a plaza with a Metro that anchors it. I had just finished my grocery shopping. I will need to return to check out Metro next time. I had no problem finding an available parking spot. I backed into one and walked in. I always like visiting a new drugstore and trying to figure out where everything is. This store has a vast assortment of curling irons and straighteners. It was impressive. The pharmacy was busy. Everyone behind the counter looked relaxed working with customers. The incontinence products are around the corner from the pharmacy. I have never seen such a huge display in my life. The Rexall in Markham has a third of this selection, which is why this drugstore was my third one that I had visited. I spent a lot of time doing research on various incontinence products in front of me. I looked up reviews on my phone, as you can't tell right from the packaging whether the material is safe on skin. Tena was on sale. The Ultimate variety got great reviews. A few folks commented on how cottony soft it was on their skin and that the underwear was breathable. I got a pack. I continued browsing. At one stage, a female staffer asked me if I needed any help. She called me sweetheart, which I haven't heard in eons. I let her know that I was browsing. She said that this place didn't charge for browsing and that I could take my time. She was the sweetheart! There is so much variety at this store that it's insane. I looked at M&M Food Market products. It felt like I was at an actual M&M Food store. It had practically everything you could think of! I naturally hit the snack aisle. Twigz were on sale. I love these pretzel snacks. I grabbed a couple of bags and then went to line up at the checkout. There was one woman working the checkout section. Another woman came over to help out. I got the original one who was friendly and competent. I had my BeWell barcode scanned from my phone. I then paid for my goods with a credit card. I tapped and was done. I thanked the woman and left with my items. I love Twigz. I got the cinnamon churro, which is yummy. The cinnamon flavour is strong and it's not terribly sugary. My mom hasn't worn the Tena underwear yet. I hope that she isn't irritated wearing it. If she's happy wearing it, we'll all be happy adding another safe product to your list as we continue figuring out incontinence products that are safe on her skin. (459)

My rating is 3.4 stars. I'm rounding down…read more I have been shopping at The Grocery Outlet for a few years, but only drop by a few times a year. I've noticed the Rexall in the same plaza each visit, but never had a need to check it out. Well, I couple of Saturdays ago, I decided to drop by because I needed something. I drove over and parked. This plaza rarely has a full parking lot, so finding a spot was easy. I then walked over. This Rexall is an older store. It does not have automatic doors. You need to pull the door handle to walk in and push it to get out. It's not horrible, but it is a major inconvenience if accessibility is a necessity to you, or you bought a ton of stuff and your hands are full. This store has pretty much everything that you need from a pharmacy. You head to the back to fill or pick up a prescription. The aisles are wide. You can also get everything from canes to travel items. The snack section is impressive. Chips were nicely organized. I managed to see keto crackers for the first time at a Rexall. My usual two locations that I frequent in Whitchurch-Stouffville and Markham have yet to have them in stock. The clearance section is in the middle of the store. It was different. Most tend to be at the back, closest to the pharmacy. There wasn't anything that I wanted from this section, but I'm happy that it exists. This Rexall doesn't have public washrooms. I think it's more prevalent in newer stores. I was ready to pay for my items. I got to the cashout area. No one was there. Another female shopper arrived, so we waited. When the female staffer came by, she actually offered to help cash the woman next to me out first. I wasn't impressed, considering that I was standing right at the cashout counter. Anyway, being my polite self, I asked if she wanted to go first. She had one item in her hand. I had four. She said that I was there first, so it sorted everything out for the staffer. She could have simply asked who was there first, but she assumed incorrectly. I paid with a debit card. I also collected Be Well points through the app on my phone. The points take a while to accumulate, but I enjoy spending them when the time is right. I thanked the woman and left with my items. I managed to push through the door without dropping anything. Success! It's a good Rexall. If I'm in the area again and need something, I'd stop by. (204)

I love shopping at Shoppers Drug Mart, usually, but what has happened to the young generation and…read moretheir aversion to helping the customer?? I recently shopped at this location and got a shopping cart that had wonky wheels. I tried to turn down an isle with a bunch of merchandise in my cart . The cart would not budge. I turned to a young man...slim with long dark hair and glasses, who was stocking shelves at the front. I said "why is the cart not working, is there something wrong with the wheels?" He answered "ya that happens sometimes you need to get another cart". I asked where they were and he motioned over there...vaguely. I had to leave the cart, hunt for where the carts were...not easily seen, take one back to my cart, transfer all the stuff into the new cart. All the while this young man just went about his business ignoring me. I spoke to him later and said "from a customer's point of view you could have helped me". I got nothing but a blank stare back. I am 64, not disabled but carrying other items and struggling to get the purchases transferred, winter coat I had taken off because it was warm in there, purse, bags etc. Does Shoppers train their staff to assist the customers or just do what their immediate task is and leave us customers to struggle along by themselves??? Not at all impressed. At cash I brought my own bags so I guess she thought I should pack up my own purchases. What has happened to customer service?? There would be no store without customers. Time to train these kids better. Not at all impressed!!
