The selection was decent, albeit the selection of milk was really poor, they probably had more lactose-free milk and soy milk than regular and the location of them together, I found to be highly confusing, as I don't speak German either, I didn't know what I was buying. There was no staff about and those I did speak to at the till seemed to speak little English, they didn't seem helpful, they seemed a little rude, walking off to do something without saying what, in one case it was getting a bag which was charged at 10 cents, which frustrated me as I had to pay that for a paper bag. The location of this place is okay, the overall selection and size is okay, and the opening hours are good, the selection of some items even main items such as milk are poor and so is service which is a real shame, sadly because of these I feel this store deserves nothing over a two star rating.

He suggested this store over others because we wanted to buy a bottle of wine for ourselves, and the concierge said that they had a good selection. He was correct! They had a good variety of price points, and we found wine that ended up suiting our tastes. We were able to purchase bottled water (a variety of sizes to choose from and at good prices), bakery items, and fresh fruit. Most Berliners know to bring their own bag (unlike us), but we bought an inexpensive one which makes for a nice souvenir!

However, one of the owners smiled and invited us in anyways. The store had a large variety of items and we were able to finally grab not only the important items that we needed but a few additional items as well. While the friendly gesture by the owner(s) was genuine and highly appreciated, the variety and presentation of the store were also spectacularly done and merit a five star review. I often joke with my wife that it's like having our own personal pantry next door! When we need something Monday thru Saturday between 08:00 and 21:00, we just stop in! They have just enough of the basics to keep me coming back, and the price is reasonable. For more complex shopping needs, I go to the Edeka two blocks NW on Schwedter. Apart from the usual psychological trauma inflicted by the German grocery experience, my biggest complaint is how small the place is. It's not that it's not that it lacks product, it's just too small to accommodate both shoppers and stockers at the same time. There are always pallet jacks being barreled around by obviously annoyed girls that both run the registers and fill the shelves. It seems I'm always in the way and this generally earns me some pretty nasty looks from the staff. I know, I know, wasting people's time is a taboo in this culture, but sometimes there is nowhere to be when you are blocked in on one side as a pallet of pasta noodles hurls your direction. At first, my nerves were tattered by this, and I guess now I'm jaded because I just expect it and laugh at the absurdity of it all. Also, don't take your hand basket through the line. Alarms will sound as if an actual offense has taken place. No one will tell you if you naively proceed down the line toward the register. It's every man for himself in the German grocery experience. If you're new to it all, don't worry, you'll get the hang of it!

Usually when I go to other supermarket, I will pick up quite a lot meat automatically. Because of lack of choices in the supermarket, the same kind of vegetables every week making me a bit tired. This ALDI isn't super big like Kuafland, but It is quite cool supermarket in this neighbourhood. I will actually give more thought on what going to get here. I like that they offer many bio products and veggie food choices. For example, I could find tofu here. And they got like veggie hamburger and Soja schnitzel and so on. I like tofu and will also give the other a try. Everytime when I visit this place for weekly grocery shopping, I'll just pick more vegetables than meats in my cart. Which is cool, not only making myself healthier and also stopping the global warming a bit. Also more different fruit choices. The general cost from me is about the same with other supermarket I go. I really don't mind to walk a bit more just for this.

This location is the smallest Bio Company one I have visited. I imagine that's because it is in the middle of a tourist area, with very little residential places in sight. But I am glad it exists. The smoked tofu that I love almost always seems to be on sale, the breads are delicious and priced around the same as the lesser-quality bakeries in the area (who raised prices, it feels like, passed on location), and there is hardly ever a long wait or line, or people in the way, blocking aisles. This makes the location ideal. Of course, I don't live near here, nor is it my closest Bio Company, but it's a short jaunt from work which makes me happy. I will certainly walk the extra 5 minutes beyond F'n'F to get better prices and a better selection

Nothing is ever open late and nothing is open at all on Sunday (like anything pretty much in Berlin). For a country that prides itself on beer, it's a real sad situation that all the markets only have beers that cap off at an ABV of 5%. You can find stronger at their version of bodegas, but not at the markets or restaurants or bars. Also, you can find a small cart at some markets, but no hand baskets and no bags (you have to bring your own or buy them there). So, with nothing to hold your groceries, you see whole families with every member holding as much as they can in their arms. Anyway, they had cheap beer, so that was good.
