We go to yelp for help, and find 2 HVAC companies that are open Sunday. She calls the first one that is open, but the reviews are terrible. She listens to the up sell for a minute, then listens to her gut feeling and hangs up. The second call is to RYP Mechanical, the answer is YES, we can be there in 30-45 minutes. The tech spent 4 hours getting the furnace operational, and would come back the next day to replace a faulty part. The best part of this story is, she was treated like a friend.

The tech looked around for a new motor, cheapest one he could find was $1500(not including install). I told him I'd find my own, which I did. I found one for $380 and just installed it myself. Now the motor won't shut off so I'm worried it could be the thermostat or limit switch (which the tech never bothered to look at). The thing is, I was charged $187 when the tech literally didn't check anything else but a visual inspection of the blower motor, not the heat exchanger, not the limit switch, nothing.
