Glad I found this place. I had trouble locating a barber/salon/anywhere in the city that could do a decent beard trim. I had walked by this place multiple times and only randomly pulled up their yelp to see what kind of services they performed. I prefer to keep my beard long, but I usually ruin it trying to trim myself and end up shaving it off. No longer necessary! Besides a great trim (bringing me from looking like I just stepped out the woods to a respectable work beard) the guys are funny and are pretty entertaining just hanging out there. On top of that they have very easy online scheduling. I hate calling to schedule an appointment talking to a human when everyone knows robots do it better and save me from speaking to another person. Chris is one of the coolest dudes you'll ever meet and he's a rockstar of his trade. He always checks in with you at the start of your appointment to see what you want done with your hair (even if you're a regular) and then delivers time after time, a super solid cut. I always enjoy my convos with Chris and I appreciate that he doesn't just rush through my haircut. Being a queer woman, I find it incredibly intimidating to find a barber most of the time. Found Revival from a recommendation on Reddit (r/NewOrleans). Checked them out online and was encouraged that they were taking Covid precautions seriously. Scheduling was easy through Schedulicity, accessed through their Google listing, and it was nice that I didn't have to pay up-front to schedule an appointment. Justin cut my hair and despite being a Manchester United supporter and laughing at me for bringing a picture of David Beckham (justifiably, mind you. I'm kidding here), he did an excellent job - particularly for me being a brand new customer. The atmosphere was chill. Chris, his customer, and Justin were fun to talk with. I went because of the rave reviews. I wanted a pretty simple haircut and shave. I booked Justin because he was available and the reviews were spectacular. I'll start with the end: I was in the chair for 2.5 hours and left with blood on my face. Justin gave me a bowl cut rather than taper the back. There was no fixing it. He couldn't figure out how to do a shave. He kept scraping and scraping and scraping. I left with cuts all over and a bleeding face. This barber shop is bare bones. They use Nivea from Walgreens to shave and don't exactly know what they're doing. Everything is generic and not supplied from a beauty supply warehouse. I have super thick hair that's easy to cut, and this is one of the only three bad haircuts I've ever had. read more

Chris is a down-to-earth guy and great barber. This is a 1-2 barber chair type of place so you get more tlc than you normally would from a larger shop. I'll definitely be going back to Chris for my cuts. Tip: Chris takes walk-ins, but calling/texting for an appointment seems to be the best way. I've been going to Revival to get my haircut for around 3 years and I've never had a bad haircut. Chris is a Master at cutting hair and he has the best disposition of any barber that I know. I've personally seen him cut all types of hair and everyone leaves happy and satisfied. The shop is centrally located in Mid City which is very convenient for anyone that lives in New Orleans, Kenner or Metairie. Chris and Justin are the two barbers there and they always make you feel at home. Chris never forgets anything you tell him, he has like a eidetic memory so I guess I would describe him as kind of a barber/therapist all in one. A little background: I am currently going to Loyola University, and I had moved from Houston-Metro area back in Texas. So after being relocated trying to find a good place to get a cut at a reasonable price, especially near the university in uptown is extremely difficult. But then I came on here and searched and found Revival, the had fantastic reviews from regulars and people visiting the area and had great prices for a cut. So on I went, on September 3rd to get my haircut and the place was amazing!!
