When I got it back, it looked like they had used tinted hot glue to piece it together. It was old but not an antique and I assumed it was the best that could be done. I recently brought in a new white chair that had a back leg broken (teen boys!) When I went to pick it up, the woman at the desk commented on how clean it was and they don't usually get chairs that clean. When I got it home, I noticed dirty fingerprints all over it. As I was trying to clean it, I realized it also had a red dusting all over it. I believe they must have taken it to their shop, and let it sit there uncovered while the sanded other pieces of furniture. While the repair of the leg is solid, not protecting the furniture from dirt in their shop is unacceptable. It still looks dingy compared to the other chairs, very disappointed.

I met two ladies who are currently in The Dream Center program and are working at the store. They were quite happy to share with me the dream behind The Dream Center Resale Store and specifically how they are benefiting from it. When I got home I felt compelled to check them out further. I learned that: ~ The Dream Center is a faith-based, 501(c)3 non-profit that has been assisting those in need in the Upstate of South Carolina since May 2012. ~ The Dream Center offers emergency assistance to those in crisis, but the primary focus is to encourage, educate, and empower people with a hand up instead of a hand out. ~ The programs of The Dream Center have been specifically developed to empower and equip people, but above all, to show people that they are loved and valued as Christ loves us. They believe every person was created on purpose and for a purpose. It is their goal to not only help a person out of crisis, but to help them live out their purpose and be self-sufficient. This store has a warehouse sort of feel but everything is labeled and very organized. Plus it seemed very clean-the merchandise and the facility. REALLY GREAT PRICES!! The staff are friendly. There is a dressing room to try on clothing. I will visit this store again. I will definitely have to check out their other locations. ~ Besides the Easley store there are also stores in Pickens, Seneca and Greenville. Check out their website; https://www.dreamcenterpc.org/ to learn more about their story, their mission, and their programs.
