A pop-up was immediately sent to me that the provider was out of office, but had received the message and would notify me as soon as they returned; that was One Month ago, without a word since. I did not post until now in case the provider had an emergency of their own--death, vacation, etc. But in that case they shouldn't have said they were receiving clients and had received my message. This delay caused me to quit looking elsewhere as I had hoped to discuss the possibility of counseling with him.

They're open at nights and on weekends and you have the choice of tele-health or in-person visits for doctors, case management, and group. Mandatory drug tests and pill counts. You can get a script anywhere, but the people here seem to really care and listen. They take some insurance, but not all so you may want to find out about your coverage. Plenty of parking and they've been wearing (and require) masks since early 2020, for over 2 years now. I'm speaking as a person on both sides personally and professionally. I work in it to. Those that want recovery love accountability and responsibility. Those that want to blame everyone but themselves well they are still a slave to the life of addiction even if clean. That is a trait that we learn when we are living that life of addiction that is anger it is hate and just to be quite honest it's the dark. Positive behavior accountability responsibility choosing your way forward for your success that is recovery. You see treatment it is a lot like church. People in recovery invite people to church all the time and they invite him to get help and then those people come and if they're not immediately fixed or if they're not immediately all their bills paid and all their problems gone they're like f you. I came what more do you want from me. They do not understand that we want them to come to recovery we want them to come to Faith we want them to do great for themselves but it's still a personal relationship between them and their recovery it is still them that must do the work. They have to get up every day and choose to move forward choose to view things in the light versus the dark. And just keep it real the same thing goes for faith nobody ever got saved and changed by going to church.. it is also a forward moving walk and is a continuous relationship with God...I'm not trying to overlap the two but the truth is most people know that recovery and faith are intertwined together. Recovery is possible faith is a part of that regardless of what your faith is. But it is a continuous work in progress done by the person no one else. Others will help you along the way with medicine with counseling with advice even in being a role model sometimes or sponsor. But it is you that must do the work and I have seen this a lot lately and I'm absolutely Fed up with people that come to church come to recovery come to the behavioral health hospitals they fight to get in and then they're fighting to get out because they didn't get everything they wanted how they wanted it and usually what they want is another substance. I said it that way because there is a BIG difference from a "Psychiatrist". I don't like to talk bad about people so I prefer not to speak of the "Bad" counselor I experienced. My wife and I have been seeing Doug Fox (LPC) since middle 2009. In April of 2011 he opened his own practice in Johnson City called, "Choice Counseling". It took a bit of juggling because of insurance issues and all, but we finally worked it out so that we could continue seeing Doug Fox. This guy is absolutely Amazing! I'm NOT kidding. In the midst of it all, I learned that I was severely depressed as a result of Adult ADHD... Doug taught me the skills to wipe-out my depression by 90%! And has single handily taught me what I needed to know to save my marriage... which most importantly has saved my children from a broken home. I better stop coz I could go on for a really long time. I THANK GOD for Doug Fox! I'm glad he has started his own practice. he deserves it! :) Gary. P.S. Hoping for a Christian led discovery and roadmap to resolve our differences and after one an a half sessions was told that our marriage was hopeless and that we would not be doing marriage counseling but divorce counseling! REALLY?! Does any true Christian believe for a moment that that position especially so immediately would be God's Will for a marriage?! If you are looking for Christian counseling and guidance STAY AWAY from this guy! Yeah he can throw out a couple of scriptures but to not even put forth an effort to help get us past our differences and realize we were not living in God's Will was absolutely preposterous! No idea why this guy advertises that he offers Christian counseling because we are now in worse shape than we were before we went in to see him. NO EFFORT to offer Christian guidance/understanding!
