We had wanted to elope to not put pressure on each other's family on where to have our wedding, etc. We were referred to her and she agreed to help us after we provided some information about who we were and what we wanted. We were blown away when ON TOP of that, she showed up at the airport to greet us. Bringing us each fresh, double-leis to welcome our arrival to the airport. She even stayed with us as we retrieved our bags and helped us to navigate to the rental car shuttle. A few days later when she came to the home, she brought a professional musician who sang and played ukulele (including our specially requested song, Stardust) as well as a photographer and had a custom cake made from Lilikoi. The whole experience with her blowing the conch shell to reciting ancient Hawaiian blessings was just magical. We loved HER so much, we're already planning to renew our vows again!

The Good: We hired Betty for our wedding in March of 2020…read morebut had to reschedule due to Covid and she was very flexible in working with us on this. She also did a good job of performing the ceremony once she arrived. The Less Good: We had a wedding on the Hilo side of the island which has spotty service to say the least. Betty was 45 minutes late for our 10am ceremony and this is only because we had to send my uncle to find her lost on the side of the road. Due to spotty service, no one heard from her until I called at 10:15am and come to find out later, she had been calling my wife (the bride) from 10:01am multiple times that she was lost, having a backup phone number would be helpful to prevent this. The place isn't hard to find if you plug it in your phone/GPS prior to losing service, but this and other communication issues definitely lead us to believe there is a struggle with technology. Once she arrived, the ceremony went well and the next lapse in communication ensued. My wife and Betty had exchanged voicemails the day before the wedding after we finished on virtual licensing agent appointment so our marriage certificate could be issued. Betty stated that she had everything ready for the day of the wedding and didn't clarify that we needed to print off our marriage certificate so we were rushing to find a printer after the ceremony which caused more delays and we were not able to sit down to brunch with our guests after the ceremony. Because she performed well at the ceremony, I was initially going to leave a 3 star review. However, we had a friend get married several days after us and we heard that she was late for their wedding as well. Being late to two weddings in the same week is very unprofessional so I can't in good conscious recommend Betty to other couples and if you do book, maybe lie and say your ceremony is earlier so she is on time.

But from the very beginning, Rachael made the process easy and stress-free. She listened to our preferences and recommended vendors that fit our vision. We wanted a colorful beach wedding, and she was incredible at helping us make design decisions for everything from the linens and glassware to the flowers. My husband and I both have very demanding jobs so there were points over the summer when we couldn't give any attention to wedding planning. Rachael was completely on top of things during the whole process and checked in on us to make sure we got our vendors booked on time. When I changed my mind on wanting live music and a hula dancer, Rachael swiftly took care of finding a vendor and getting a quote. When I wanted to add a wooden walkway for the aisle, she contacted our venue and took care of the arrangements. She followed up on things that I had completely forgotten about and promptly assisted us on anything we needed. At one point, I was freaking out about how little time I had dedicated to planning, but Rachael quickly jumped on a call and helped ease all my nerves. Teya was our day-of coordinator and I don't know how we could have had our wedding without her. Prior to the day itself, we went over the schedule and timeline and she made sure everything was exactly as we wanted it on the day of the wedding. She was comforting and friendly, checking in on me periodically through the rehearsal and the wedding day. For the day of, she coordinated EVERYTHING with the vendors, so I didn't have to lift a finger. She made sure my husband and I were taken care of, including getting our couple's drinks and some of the canapes after the ceremony! My family couldn't stop complimenting Teya's professionalism and care. Having Teya there allowed us to be fully present for the ceremony and the reception without having to worry about anything.
