I can say I've tried everything at the Greenway... except actually living at the Greenway. In my travels throughout Brampton, Revera's Greenway retirement residence is certainly one of the most interesting - and unexpected - places I've visited. You want a place where they throw the entire kitchen sink (and then some) in terms of the end user experience? This is the place for you. I had to cover an event for the publication I work with, and quickly learned that it was a "film festival" debuting works focused on seniors, as part of a cross-country initiative that's held at various retirement homes throughout Canada. Make no mistake: this is a sprawling property, and possibly one of the nicest buildings I've visited in Brampton, purpose be damned. The owners clearly spared no expense kitting this place out. That extends to the food as well. I had the opportunity to sample a number of items as the event concluded, and was bewildered when I saw chefs handing out glasses of champagne, entire racks of lamb(!!!!) and plenty of succulent appetizers. I later learned from a contact of mine that the chain went to the expense of source as many top-tier chefs as they could find to cook in the property, and given the response to these items, their efforts certainly weren't in vain. This experience was also a unique one for me, as I had the chance to sit with former Premier Bill Davis for an hour and chat with him about his own retirement, the state of the city, Patrick Brown's role as mayor of Brampton and the future for the region. It was a treasured experience (after all, the man is 89), and one I certainly wouldn't forget. The films shown during the event were also interesting, as they presented "slice of life" vignettes that focused on certain residents living at the property, and their quirks and hobbies. I certainly got the sense that many of them were shy or didn't know what to expect from the audience who came to view their work, but they seemed very impressed with the experience. I recently moved my dad and mom into the Greenway retirement home in Brampton in November of 2021 and at first I was nervous to leave my parents in a home, with all the Covid-19 issues everywhere in the news. At greenway they couldn't be safer with the senior management, down to the various directors and managers, dietary aids and nurses who are screened throughly and have a tight well run strict Covid-19 for staff and visitors to abide by in order to keep everyone safe. My parents were very hesitant at first and wanted to go back home... But once they gave the excellent staff a chance , and started to open Up and take in some of the many activities they felt at home. I am extremely impressed on how well this place is run and how clean it is kept. Nurses , PSW's , management directors are always smiling and Willing to help my parents at a moment's notice. The big variety of food is tasty and always warm and fresh. The activities are abundant and are happening hourly daily. I am so happy that both my mom and dad are safe and looked after very well. I would recommend this Greenway retirement facility to any one. I would give this retirement home a 5/5 star rating! I have stayed there visiting my mother. Lots of nice artwork. Friendly staff. Plenty of activities. The food in the dining room was good. There is a nice lounge close to my mother. The pictures on their website are accurate. Nice that they allow the residents to have dogs. On a relatively quiet drive. Close to shopping. I was most impressed with the amount of lovely art work. read more
