My 2 dogs love the doggie play areas the feature a agility course that they can romp and play. The business center has an Apple Computer - Several PC'S - Printer w/fax and adjacent game room with a kitchen area. - Exercise room has free weights, cardio machines - Treadmills , bikes, etc. When I was shown my unit, I was greeted by Tatiana Van Breackel of the management staff. I found her to be affable, personable with a extreme level of professionalism which is very refreshing to see. Tatiana went above the call and insured my transition went smooth and hassle fee. She answered all questions thoroughly and concisely. John of the maintenance staff was quick to reply to a simple electrical issue i faced during the installation of my fiber optic internet /TV service. (Simple flip of resetting the circuit breaker switch) What ever these two professionals are being paid is not enough! Way to go Tatiana & John. Your level of customer service will keep the residents happy and insure a warm, welcoming and safe community for future and present residents.

I am writing to provide some feedback regarding my tenancy at MAA Lake Mary Apartments. My husband…read moreand I moved into our downstairs unit just over a year ago while our new home is being built. We chose the property primarily because it was one of the few that accommodated our large dog, and we've appreciated the prime location with convenient access to restaurants, shopping, and Interstate 4. While there are definite upsides to living here, we have encountered a few issues that have impacted our experience. Our air conditioning unit has malfunctioned multiple times, and even after it was replaced, we have still been without AC for several days on several separate occasions. More recently, our upstairs neighbor's AC unit failed, resulting in water pouring from our garage ceiling onto my car at 8:30 PM. We had to quickly move all of our belongings from the garage into our apartment to prevent damage. Additionally, when the previous upstairs tenants moved out, the repair/painting team worked on the apartment until 1:00 AM, which necessitated a call to the emergency number due to the unacceptable noise level late at night. We have also found that the noise transfer from the upstairs unit is quite significant; we can hear nearly every footstep and the sound literally vibrates the ceiling, and with new tenants having just moved in, the noise from their children has become particularly noticeable. On a positive note, I want to commend the maintenance team. They are always very responsive and efficient in addressing any issues we have reported. We are moving out soon but wanted to pass along this review for others who are trying to find a temporary home.

3-star rating intended to compliment the community's natural beauty - spectacular trees planted…read moreabout 30 years ago as part of a beautification project, wildlife, sunsets and sunrises. The following are reasons I'm leaving MAA Heathrow after about four years: 1. Sound a. Tenants and staff armed with high frequency dog deterrent devices, and I have a severe loss of hearing high frequency sounds, requiring hearing aids. I hear non-stop clicking and ringing inside the apartment and while out on walks. b. The rear of building 17 faces Savoy Place, a busy street on The Reveal Heathrow property, subject to construction, landscaping equipment, delivery trucks, maintenance workers' golf carts, and normal tenant ingress and egress. I've been told there is no way to distort the sound with trees or bushes due to inability to install sprinklers, but you'll notice trees, bushes, and walls covering the fence along the property line on Savoy Place. I hear constant ringing in my ears from the sound of car engines bouncing between cement buildings. c. It is not healthy for me to continue combating the ringing and clicking with speakers. 2. No one enforces Chapter 20 Section 20.17(b) of Seminole County, FL Code of Ordinance, which states dog leashes must be 8ft max. There are 30ft retractable dog leashes EVERYWHERE I look, and there is no way they are all service dogs. 3. In unit 17-104 specifically, a. History of termites (reported February 2024) treated locally because finding and treating the entire colony was costly. I hear clicking in the walls that could be tinnitus but my guests have confirmed hearing it as well, so I think it's likely wood cracking. b. Uneven floors - there are cracks and water spots inside the apartment that have been reported and painted over in the past. c. I have put in a few requests to fix a drain/gutter on the building's exterior near the front window that creates puddles and contributes to water damage near the window where the termites were reported. 4. MAA Heathrow is not a medical marijuana friendly location.

I'll share what happened with me in hopes that it keeps others from moving here. When I decided that I'd be moving from Ballantrae for a change of scenery, I was asked to complete a roommate release form with a $200 fee. I understand being charged high fees if I was breaking my lease; however, I fulfilled the length of stay I agreed to with the lease. I questioned them as to why I was being charged a high amount. The answer they continued to give was, "In order to process the roommate release form, there is a $200 fee." They were unable to provide an answer behind my question of "why?" A friend of mine in the local area is an apartment complex manager and is well-versed in their industry. They explained the $200 fee is illegal for them to charge. Thanks to my friend who put pressure on Ballantrae's office staff, they dropped the $200 fee. There were other issues besides this incident. Untrustworthy office staff actively taking financial advantage of their tenants. Couldn't get out fast enough.

Just said she would make a maintenance request. Which they have done now 3 times in 2 months. No one knows whats going on. The leasing staff are a joke. One person says one thing and someone says something completely different. No communication between the front staff. Not to mention they are rude and disrespectful. I pay a lot of money to live here only to be told I cant come into the club house and get coffee that they provide. The gate is always open. What is the point of a gate, and we live right in front of the gate and even had someone enter our apartment. The lack of communication and care from the staff is ridiculious for the amount of money I pay to live here.

They overstate their amenities. They don't have a car wash; they have a vacuum cleaner. The pool was dirty, freezing, and filled with leaves the last time I went. The barbecues are also filthy, and their gym is a joke. But the cherry on top was when one of their smoke detectors, located 20 feet up on the ceiling, started beeping at 3 am. I called the emergency line seven times; they sent someone six hours later. I listened to a fire alarm beep every thirty seconds for six hours before they finally sent someone at 9 am--most likely to avoid paying overtime to their maintenance staff. That, or they're just incompetent. This place has a rotating door of tenants and now I see why.

Lots of cockroaches, annoying neighbors ... seriously, you can't make up stuff like this. One neighbor who lived across the street from me used to pester me about parking in "his" parking spot (uh, there's no assigned parking spaces here, pal), even though I had no choice since someone often took the spot right outside my front door. (And even I had enough common sense to realize that it wasn't MY spot; simply put, it was just "a" spot outside my house ... it didn't belong to me.) I was renting here during the summer of 2008 and lived right next to the pool, though was completely annoyed and disappointed to find out that it was closed half the times I tried to go. I think it got locked up at around 6 or so ... who knows. The bottom line is ... it's summer, in Florida ... it's still light out ... can't I go swimming? WTF. Plus, the "spa"/hot tub right next to the pool rarely, if ever, worked. And that's saying something, since I lived here for, as I said, about 1.5 years. The thing NEVER worked. The bubbles came on ... but no heat. You'd think that for the money you get charged to live here, you could get a working hot tub at least once in 18 months. (Nope! Good luck with THAT.) Cockroaches were a big problem. I found them in every area of my place. Sickening. They were big ones, too. Near the windows on one side of my place, I constantly found colonies of dead bugs ... not even sure what they were. Small, but not like ants ... they were smaller. Just gross. I had an exterminator come in and take a look, and I think he actually did a good job at cleaning up the problem, but then the bugs just came back a month or two later. Not sure where they were coming in from, or anything. Lame. Plus, I found even more when I was looking for their entrance; the people who rented my place (read: dump) out to me didn't even clean half of the place before having me come in to see it. I just assumed it was clean ... then, after I'd moved in, I found out the truth. My bathroom, as a whole, was decently-sized ... though the toilet area was in what used to be a closet. Yeah, lame. I had to open a door to get to the toilet. And it was in a closet-sized room. Just ridiculous. Never seen anything like that before. I moved in because I was working in the area and needed somewhere close-by and convenient ... probably should've thought things through more before just jumping into this place head-first. Also had a "memorable" experience in the aftermath of one storm when a couple of trees fell down near the entrance and blocked everyone in the community in. (And out, really, if you'd been trying to enter.) This is a "gated" (HAHAHA - well, that's insane, too, since it's not really a gate, nor is there any guard on duty; it's just one of those bars that comes down in front of you, like the ones at tollbooths) community, but don't buy into that if you're looking in this place for a potential home. If a burglar or anyone else wants to get into this place desperately enough, they can just drive through the bar that comes down as fast as they can. Piece of cake. Okay, yeah ... I know that it's not Barclay Place's fault that the trees came down ... but a 2nd entrance/exit would be nice. But, no ... there's only one, and good luck leaving/entering if something falls down again. Insane. Good thing this incident happened on a Friday night during a storm, and not on a weekday morning when everyone needed to go to work. The convenient location is about all this place has going for it. Other than that, it's overpriced, stupid, misleading and poorly-maintained. How can you have a hot tub not work for 1.5 years? And a pool that closes during daylight hours during a summer in FL? Way to go, schmucks. Don't move in here ... seriously. I can't be the only one out there who hated this place. Waste of time & money.
