I came to her because of all the high ratings on here, but it steered me wrong. Shamalah is rude, condescending and fear mongering. Following my reading with her, I felt distraught and shaken by the experience. It left me feeling not only unsettled but also traumatized. She was more than intense, I feel that she preys on people's vulnerabilities and further intentionally exploits it to attack you. It's as if she enjoys the pain out of people. She asks for information from you and then responds in a way that is judgmental and condescending. It didn't feel like a safe or compassionate space, and that's been hard to reconcile--especially because I was open and vulnerable, and I expected to be met with care, or at the very least, respect. Throughout the session there were times I tried to change to subject off an issue that I wanted to move away from but she kept going back to it even when I was clearly uncomfortable, crying and wanted to move on from it. None of the predictions she said came true. I came to her during a time I felt vulnerable, down and was seeking guidance. This review is long overdue. I have seen her a couple of times in the past, and her readings were completely ridiculous. It's safe to say that many of these positive reviews seem paid. I gave her a few chances because I wanted to see if she was at least consistent. During my first reading, she told me that I would have an arranged marriage and that I would not be happy in it. Later, when I met her again (since I still wasn't married), she changed the story and said that I might get pregnant by the man I end up with and might have to get married quickly. My last meeting with her, which happened a few months back, was pure nonsense. The moment she sensed that I am an independent woman, she started giving very generic dating advice about how I would need help, how I might earn more than my partner, and how I might never be happy in my relationship. I just had my first thirty minute phone reading with Shamalah. First of all it's important to realize our futures are fluid, and no one can tell you with certainty everything that will happen to you in the future. Shamalah is very honest and upfront about that from the beginning. She also tells you in the beginning that if you aren't connecting in the first few minutes, she will happily give you a refund. I greatly appreciated her honesty. With that being said, you do need to do some prep work. Think about what you want to ask in advance. If you go in without any idea on what you want to know, you are wasting both your time and Shamalah's. I did my homework and had questions written down and prepared in advance. I think it helped tremendously rather than just going in blankly saying tell me my future. So really that is the responsibility of the client. Do your homework! Be prepared! I've never done a reading before and had my first reading with Shamalah a few months ago regarding career and love. I told her this was my first reading, and was honestly a little skeptic. She explained how it all works, and that for it to be a good reading we had to establish a connection at the start of the conversation and we did.
