After the last attempt, I actually just gave up as the shoes were coming back to me relatively the same as I turned them in. There just wasn't enough difference between the before and after to justify continually spending money to have them professionally done when I can just do it myself and achieve the same results. However, recently, I've changed jobs so I thought I would get these shoes shined again, just to have a fresh look as my shoes are nearly 8 years old at this point. I took them to Lenny's and I am ABSOLUTELY BLOWN!! These shoes have never come back to me looking so shiny and clean. I was absolutely stunned when she handed them to me. They nearly look new!! Please don't go here to get your luggage repaired - I had a very frustrating experience…read more My carry on has a zipper to extend the bag which fell off the track on one side so I found this place to fix it. He looks at my bag from the outside and starts opening the stitch which I was nervous about but he told me not worry. He then puts another zipper on the track which he said is stronger and will prevent it breaking off again. He then finally opens the inside of the bag to start the stitch and noticed he can't see the spine of the zipper because I have a compartment overlapping it so he pokes holes and stitches through the material without even looking at the other side including the mesh portion which I did not want because I was nervous the mesh would tear if I used this pocket. He became upset and took the stitch out and then did a very sloppy job of a hand stitch - look at the pictures. I was upset and by this time he just wanted his money. By the time I got to my car, one of the stitches already fell out. I had to go to another repair shop which sewed it by a machine and was much more sturdy. I will never come back to this place again.

I am making this a "five star" review because I have no reason to believe his repairs are not completely satisfactory. He insists upon cash. To make matters more complicated, he insists on a cash deposit. I have not faced this particular combination of demands at a shoemaker and so I had to leave with my unrepaired shoes. He quoted a price of $75 for the work I needed. Now for the sake of comparison, I walked to Guaricela's a few blocks away, dropped my shoes, and paid the full amount of $135 with Apple Pay. I was specifying precisely the same work. I am not trying to suggest anything untoward or dishonest, Guaricela's is in a more expensive space and accepts all credit cards, those differences alone could easily explain the difference. Plus I have no means to compare the two's work. I consider both amounts "reasonable". I am just reporting the inconvenience at Villa's, but noting that his low prices might make going there with cash or a bank card, worth it, and of course I would have, had I known the problem. In fact, the next time I need simple shoe repairs on casual shoes, I will probably return to Villas.

Back in May, I dropped off a shoe and a designer bag to be repaired. When I returned, only the shoe was done. The bag the main item I needed for a trip wasn't touched. I had to leave for my trip WITHOUT it, even though they had more than enough time to finish the work. Then the madness began. The owner kept calling me from July through October saying the bag was "ready," even though life was hectic and I couldn't pick it up right away. When I finally went in recently, they suddenly "couldn't find" my bag. I came back the next day, and the story changed again they claimed that if an item is there "too long," they donate it. Let me be VERY clear: You don't "donate" a Prada bag. You sell it. Their excuses were pathetic, their attitude was rude, and their accountability was ZERO. Instead of taking responsibility for losing (or selling!) my property, they basically shrugged and told me it wasn't their problem because I didn't pick it up fast enough even though they were the ones who failed to repair it on time in the first place. I had to call the police because the behavior was so shady, and honestly I regret not taking them to court. This place is a scam. They are careless with people's belongings, they lie without hesitation, and they clearly have no policies to protect customers' items. DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH ANYTHING OF VALUE. I wouldn't let them fix a shoelace after this experience. Save yourself the headache, the stress, and the loss. They will get their karma but in the meantime, let this review be your warning.
