Excellent place to play some billards. Tables are kept in good condition and you can always find a straight pool stick !

I'm not in this area often, especially during the pandemic, so when I saw that they were offering frozen pierogis through Burrow Shop's online grocery delivery service, I had to buy them. I got the traditional pierogis made with flour, sour cream, eggs, potato, cheddar cheese, and salt. It was a 12-pack of frozen pierogis sealed in plastic in a little cardboard box with the instructions at the bottom, which included boiling and panfrying. I was lazy and starving at that point and looking for something fast, so I decided to brush six of them with olive oil and stick them in the air fryer. I should've taken them out sooner because the potato started leaking out the ends, but they were still great. Of course, if I had followed the instructions, I'm sure they'd be even better (I saved the other half to try it making it the way they said). Simple and comforting, not lacking flavour, but not too tame, and not too salty. The six were a great snack for just myself - I can see how people could easily take down plates of these!

It's nice without being pretentious. Not much has changed since I was here last, which was about 7 years back, and before that, 15 years back? I was in town to see friends and chose this place. We grabbed apps (fries, curly fries, and deep fried pickles). The food is still pretty good, but the regular fries are much better than the curly ones and the pickles were tasty. All three are very small servings for $10 each or $9 each when you order two. The tables are still in good shape and the vibe is good. The service is a mish mash. First, we had Sarah. She was the highlight of the service night. Attentive, friendly, professional and able to switch gears from small chat about her team the Oilers to what the best IPA they had was, and came by to check on us regularly. The next server wasn't around much, and forgot items, then we got Lee (I think I got that name wrong) who was also a total pro. The staff seem really good except for that one in the middle and I think overall their staff is really good. Not sure I get all the 3 stars, but I don't live in the city anymore and my experience is limited at this place. Overall, I'd say go!

The Short Version: Casino in Gatineau. Attached to a Hilton…read moreHotel and has 2 restaurants: Arome the fancier and more expensive one and Banco, the casual and less expensive one. The Long Version: My first visit to this casino was before I moved to Ottawa. I was living in Montreal and visiting a friend who was doing his co-op placement in Ottawa. He was playing tour guide and showing me around the NCR and the casino was on his list. We walked around and I played some slot machines. My friend played some roulette. Neither of us won any money :( But we did get some free coffee and soft drinks at the self-serve dispensers, haha. I'm not a huge gambler, so even after I moved to Ottawa, I did not return, until recently. And my reason for returning was actually to eat at Arome, one of their restaurants, with my husband. Since we were already there, I figured why not experience the casino a bit after dinner? My husband and I walked around. My husband played some slot machines, a fish-themed one and a buffalo-themed one. He won a small amount. Most people would likely have kept on playing, lol, but we like to quit while we're ahead, haha. The casino was clean and did not smell bad (like the Shorelines Casino at Thousand Islands did the last time I was there). There's also a theatre at the Casino where you can see shows. I'm not really into casinos, but for those who are, I think the Lac-Leamy Casino is pretty good in terms of aesthetics and amenities. They have lots of free parking. Review #21 (2026)
