Because it was so sudden I hadn't researched crematoriums or other options. The vet, who was terrific, said my love would go to a local crematory of which he thought highly. Over the weekend I read the reviews and was horrified by other pet owners' stories - mix-ups of their pets with others, communal cremations (dogs, cats, birds - you get a little bit of all of them), and disrespectful treatment of their loved ones, among other situations. (I've since hear further horror stories.) Thanks to the power of the internet I found Pine Castle Pet Cremation. I called on Saturday, not really expecting an answer - and almost immediately was speaking with the owner, Terry. I immediately felt reassured that this was where my girl should be. Because of the weekend and my vet's office being closed, nothing had happened to my sweetie. When the office opened Monday morning I was there to pick her up and take her to Terry's location. As kind and gentle in person as he was on the phone, he explained the process - offering as little or as much detail as I wanted. Totally dignified from when I arrived until I left a few hours later with my girl. She's home, and I know it's her, and I can rest easy. Losing someone special is incredibly painful. I…read morewas too that pick up can be scheduled for 6:15am on 01/19/26, all I needed to send was my address and side profile of my dog. Which was done. My dog was hit and dragged by a distracted driver on 01/16/26 at/around 5pm. He was taken to the ER with a broken foot and VERY bad road rash. Hes a 102lb Mastador and normally a sweet boy but since the accident very reactive to anyone who touches his wounds (ofc) I needed to get him to a Surgery center 01/19/26 ASAP to have an evaluation and urgent surgery since he's been sitting on a broken foot for days. Contacted a well known surgery center who recommended this transport and I decided to give it a shot. Anytime Pet Transport said they can have someone pick Axel up in a carrier to then place in the back of a car so he does not have to jump up or down. PERFECT right? Day comes (today) and I text 25m ahead of time to make sure we are still on board. Nothing. I call, no answer. I give 10m and text again. Nothing. I give another 10-20m and call again. This time calls go straight to VM.. I was blocked. Tried calling with my BFs phone just a few moments ago before this review and Calls ring but no answer. I call once more, it goes straight to VM. At such a sensitive time they just GHOST. How dare they, how unprofessional and how cruel, not to me but to my pup Axel who currently has a gofund.me page titles Axels Unexpected Accident. I called the vet office who suggested trying them and told them about my experience and they will SURELY not be giving this number out again. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
