The kibe cru was served completely raw and had a refreshingly meaty texture and flavor. The kibe de forno was a baked loaf of kibbe with a crusty exterior made of ground beef and bulgur and a filling of ground beef and onions (but was on the dry side). My favorite preparation was the kibe frito, a fried fritter with a crispy ground beef and bulgur shell and a filling of ground beef and onions. For our sides, we had the Arabic salad (lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, parsley), hummus (which had a distinctively nutty flavor from the tahini), and Arabic bread. At the table were three different condiments--a red pepper sauce, an Arabian pepper sauce, and a garlic sauce, which each enhanced the flavors of the food! Overall, this was a delicious meal that came in large portions at a great value, and with quick, friendly service too!

The bright yellow awning makes and easy to spot meeting point and though the service can be slow, the point is to relax and observe the ways of Rio. There's plenty of liquor to chose from. Some cheap beers, an espresso and a few refrigerantes are also options but don't focus too much on the quality of the food. Plus metro Cinelândia is right there as well as a majority of city buses at one convenient stop which makes getting there easy.

Bottom line: Underwhelming tourist trap?…read more I ate here after asking some employees of the nearby theater where they would eat for lunch. In my group we ordered file de carne, file de peixe and the file de frango. All dishes came with fries. The menu options were the usual suspects and were too salty, as most food in Brazil typically is. The beef, fish and chicken were generic and overcooked, in my opinion. The dish was overpowered by the salt and simplified the protein to a salt delivery system. One item to note was that it was nice to see they did carry a dark beer on the menu. I don't think I would recommend this to others. Due to its location and inviting outdoor seating, I think that I have to call this a tourist trap. It seemed like such a great place from the outside but we were all disappointed by the food.

Considering the price, this place offers great value! $25 might sound steep for lunch but you will quickly learn that Brazil isn't that cheap at all..... You can easily spend $60-$80 at an average churrascaria (for dinner) in Rio which is probably how much we pay in NY too! From Copacabana it's about 15 min cab ride. Check it out if you are in Rio!
