My veal gulasch was perfect. The service had the usual East German charm; just nice and never pretentious. Yes, I look forward to returning one day, although Dessau overall is disappointing compared to Halle and Dresden.

This was my second visit to the Kornhaus. Came here years ago when it was still undergoing…read morerenovations. I flew all the way from the US with my friends to show them the wonderful Bauhaus architecture of the Kornhaus. We were planning on having dinner on the patio so I asked the waitress if they had an English menu before being seated. She grunted and shoved a menu at me. This older woman was the rudest and most unpleasant person I've come across in all of Germany. Quite a shame that such an ogre should represent the Kornhaus. Architecture and renovation gets 5 stars but her rude and contemptuous behavior towards customers rates less than 1 star! This woman is a disgrace to the hospitality industry. Management needs to sack her and retrain the staff. The Kornhaus deserves better.
