So we went to Traube based on a chef's recommendation and he wasn't wrong. It's tucked out of the way up in Azmoos, but worth a detour. In terms of value-for-money, it's pretty hard to beat. There is a menu here, but actually the affable 60+ Italian chef comes to your table to discuss your order personally - before each course. He can cook pretty well too. We had aperitifs, bouillon, salad, truffle ravioli, brasato, castania and a couple of glasses of wine - all excellent and very reasonably priced. It's a small dining room which was quiet when we visited on a Sunday night. Apparently Friday/Saturday night and Sunday lunch are busiest. read more
