It is situated in the lower Engadine close to the train terminal Scuol, "at the border of the Swiss Grand Tour" as well as the bus station and the cable care station are only minutes away. History

Established in 1993.

Oktober 14th 1993 Edwin A. Lehmann did buy the ground in order to fulfil his dream of his own Hotel. Already four days later the construction started based on the plans of the architecture bureau Garraux & Hunziker AG in Samedan. 1994 December 17 1994 the hotel Altana has been opened. The name refers to the German and or Rumansch word of a balcony which is over viewing the landscape in front. As the Altana is buit abov the town on a kind of natural terrace and as the house itself has a lot of balconies the name seamed kind of suitable.

Meet the Business Owner: Adrian M. L.

The heart and soul of the hotel Altana are the families Esther und Edwin A. Lehmann as well as Adrian M. und Wirinthip Lehmann. The senior hosts Esther und Edwin A. Lehmann are working in the hotel buisines since there wedding in 1972. Already 1978 they had taken the lead in the upper engadin hotel Atlas (today Saratz) in Pontresina which they led until 1984. Until 1992 they where managing the 5-star Grand Hotel Kronenhof in Pontresina. 1993 they had the chance to build there own hotel, the hotel Altana, in Scuol. Since 2010 the junior hosts are slightly taking over. Wirinthip and Adrian M. Lehmann have met in the Amari Trang beach Resort & Spa in Thailand in which both of them had management positions.
