I had ordered a tomato soup and spaghetti, so I had to wolf down the soup to get to the pasta while it was still warm. Food great, we had Flammkuchen which is an old German dish, sort of like a very thin pizza. So nice they offer such specialities on the menu next to the common dishes. You get your money's worth. Our friends really wanted a certain dessert, which they didn't have, which is a real shame, but the rest of the options were yummy as well. We had a lot to catch up with, with our friends, so we stayed for hours and were the last to leave the place. They never gave us the feeling we should leave, or order more drinks etc. They made you feel very welcome. Sidenote, the waiter(s) also speak English, not just German. I will make sure to eat here again next visit I make to Oberstdorf.

We were surprised to see how packed it was in the front patio dining. We were initially told no, we couldn't eat because we didn't have a reservation but then they said "unless sitting inside is ok?" Yes! They warned us the service might be slow but they wasn't the case. The food was outstanding. My husband had a gyro plate and I had a lamb shoulder. Unfortunately, for our last visit we only made it there once as we had just a 14 hour layover. We found this little gem by accident many years ago as we were coming back from a bike tour of the city and decided to give them a try as their selection seemed extensive and their prices seemed lower than many other places near the city center. I can't think of any bad visits that we have had here. The service is always friendly and the food is always great and plentiful. They have traditional German selections and also several Croatian dishes if you are feeling more adventurous. If you have never had the pleasure of Croatian food, you may want to give it a try. It is like a crossroads between Italian, Mediterranean and Turkish. The menu is page after page of endless choices as well as daily specials. Two of our favorites are the mixed grill and schnitzel. There are also pastas and pizzas on the menu which are also quite good. Several years back we had our six boys in Munich, several of whom were teenagers, and every single one found things they liked on the menu. If you're dining solo, as a couple or a family, it's the perfect place. You may want to call ahead or go during the off hours as they can get quite busy.
