We came for the Svíčková (roast sirloin in gravy with bread dumplings and cranberry sauce) which was incredible. The meat was so tender and delicious, and the dumplings and sauce complemented it perfectly. After the Svíčková, we saw a majority of the people around were having Smažený Sýr, and decided we needed to try it if it was that popular - we later learned it's their specialty. It is a fried block of cheese (for the Americans, we likened it to a large mozzarella stick) and was delicious. It also came with a tartar-like sauce which was surprisingly great with it. Everything we had here was delicious, definitely recommend - and would recommend the items we had.

The beef tartar was good as well but very rich. We were also given a basket of bread with a butter that tasted like it was meat infused. That was bomb. I had to limit myself so I had room for the main dish! The roasted duck breast was oh so good. The duck itself was perfectly cooked and had great flavor. The sweet potato purée was heavenly. The glaze sauce on the duck was a bit sweet especially with the sweet potato, but still a great dish overall.

The restaurant is featured in the Michelin guide and features a chef's counter. The restaurant is a good 10 minute walk from the metro. There is a bus/tram stop in front of the restaurant. The restaurant is located in a quiet neighborhood and was slightly hard to find. Started off with the homemade bread with butter. I found the bread dry and lackluster. It was interesting that the waiter claimed that the bread made in house daily when I saw one of the cooks cut up prepackaged store-bought bread... Opted for the tripes as a starter per the recommendation from the waiter. I was slightly surprised that such a dish could appear in a fancy restaurant. The waiter reassured me that this was a popular Czech dish. The tripes were fine although I found the dish a touch lacking with a ton of thousand island squirted on the dish? I did find the dish a touch salty ... as with most dishes in Prague. ..maybe it's cultural Moved on to the smoked pork tongue as the main. It was my first time having pork tongue and this tasted more like a sausage. I'm not sure what was with the saltier cream sauce that complemented this dish as it looked fine but the flavors were again on the saltier side... The dumpling I found to be quite dry and boring. Ended off the meal with the panna cotta which may have been the highlight of the meal. The panna cotta was light and served with a couple versions of pear. The ice cream with rum was tasty too.

True, you have to drive or to walk to get there (about 3 min from tram stop "Nad Trojou" or 10 min from metro "Kobylisy") but you will be rewarded by the quiet relaxing atmosphere of this establishment. The interior is nicely decorated and the outdoor seating is lovely, even fitted with a children sandbox to cater for families. I recently organized a walk for a group of 30 people, mainly non-Czech speakers, and asked "Na krasne vyhlidce" to prepare a dinner for us. They were very helpful and accommodating from the start.They offered to prepare a special menu just for us to ensure nobody waits for food too long. In the end, 40 of us turned up. Despite of this surprise the staff of three waitresses managed to serve us very professionally, fast and with smile. And the food was a delight. I really enjoyed my ratatouille! Well done! I suggest installing Google Translate before visiting the restaurant and to download full language pack which will provide a better precision of translation. I had venison goulash which was excellent - nicely cooked meat, tasty sauce, lots of flavor. The cost was extremely reasonable. Good service. Recommended.
