What a wonderful bed & breakfast inn!! I stayed here for three nights on a weekend trip to Munich…read moreto visit a friend. I had the best time.. Relaxing, charming, a real taste of Bavarian hospitality. The facility is brand new (opened in early 2013) and is run by Elisabeth and her two sisters. A very charming B&B that I would highly recommend. The homemade pastries and jams are the best. Food is prepared using things from their garden... It is a very delightful and peaceful setting. It is also quite inexpensive compared to other accommodations in and around Munich. It is a short drive to downtown Munich and surrounding sites. I had a wonderful weekend and am surely going to come back with my wife someday

A drive into the country took us to a charming village and to the restaurant itself. The owner (Erik?) took care of us and explained the menu in both German and English. The menu is changed quite frequently and is never printed, just chalked up on a board for reference. When asked for recommendations, Erik told me that he works closely with the chef on the menu and that there's nothing on there that they don't both love. After a full dinner there, it's not hard to believe that statement. I started with a sweet potato and lemon soup; while I'm not normally a fan of sweet potatoes, this soup was well balanced between the fullness of the tuber and the sharpness of the lemon, with just a bit of spice (paprika, perhaps?) cutting through it. Pasta served with fresh, white truffles followed the soup and the dish really highlighted the truffles and the wonderfully fresh pasta. A chocolate torte with fresh cream finished the meal. Erik's bar is also excellent. I had a glass of Prosecco blended with white peaches as an apertif, followed by a glass of white wine that the owner recommended, and an excellent espresso.

We were grateful they didn't turn us away as we didn't have a reservation. They really were too busy to accept our business, but they seated us anyway. Our server was one of only two guys waiting tables for the entire restaurant. It took quite awhile for him to notice us, but once he did, he hustled! Everything we needed, he came through on delivering quickly. I honestly don't know how he did it, the poor guy was overworked! Our food was excellent and came out fairly quickly. The restaurant has an inviting, rustic, charm and diners seemed to stay long and linger for hours. This was one of the better restaurants we enjoyed during our two weeks in Munich and South Tyrol.

It's a relatively small and quiet place, with a decent selection of Italian favorites. Despite hearing good things about the fish, due to being cold and tired, we stuck with the traditional. It was full on the Friday night and, many of the customers were known to the staff, which is always a good sign. The wine list here is excellent and the prices even better. Many of the wines are aged and almost all the wine we had (and we had a lot :-)) was under €30 a bottle which is rare for wines that are up to 10 years old. For this alone I would give the place five stars :-))) The food here is also good. Ok, so my steak was a little bit too salty but, it was cooked to perfection. The potatoes were ok and the salad they served with it was divine. We also shared a cheese plate which was really nice, with a spicy jam / sauce, that complemented the cheese beautifully :-)) The hosts here are wonderful and they made recommendations and took care of our needs and, of course very Italian. They let us hang around as long as we wanted (and we did) and asked us to come back again, to which we said, of course :-)) I will definitely be back here to enjoy some wonderful wine and a meal with friends :-))

The salad greens were very fresh, crisp, and flavorful and the dressing was the perfect balance between a slight sweetness and a tangy vinaigrette. The owner offered to fillet the fish for me which was an added bonus as I have been awake for over 36 hours and just wanted a healthy light meal without much effort.
