This site sits portside with great view and the funicular right next to it. A bit touristy with live saxophone player and super crowded but well worth it if you're in the neighborhood. Tried the grilled salmon which was cooked to perfection. Not over or undercooked. Tried the Chilean salad Which consists of cut up onions, tomatoes and herbs. Nice and refreshing. Had to also have the pisco sour, which was strong and super sweet. Overall, def one of the winners in this area for great seafood.

Location: La Concepcion is perched on Cerro Concepcion, one of Valparaiso's signature hills. The outdoor dining area overlooks the Valparaiso's port and the Pacific Ocean. Food: Easily on par with some of the best restaurants in NYC. First off, the complimentary whole-grain bread they serve is delicious. Our first night, I had the squash soup to start which was outstanding, with a really nice depth of flavor. I followed that with the Crab ravioli which certainly lived up to the hype! Each ravioli encases an impressive amount of crab meat and the accompanying cream sauce makes for a truly divine main. My second night, I started with the ceviche and followed with the braised beef with pumpkin gnocchi, which were both very good, although out of everything I ordered, the crab ravioli reigned supreme. Drinks: I had a Manhattan each night, which was well-made. The bottle of Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon we ordered to accompany our meal had nice depth of flavor and went well with beef. Service: Top-notch. Waitstaff did a great job making sure our needs were attended to and provided helpful recommendations. Overall: A must when in Valparaiso!

It was a gorgeous afternoon in Vina and I was joined by 3 lovely family members. We prepared the palates with pisco sours chileno. Next we shared breaded shrimp, clams parmesana before my main course arrived, Congrio frito. Everything paired very well with the Casillero del Diablo Sauvignon Blanc. And finally for digestive purposes, I ordered a double espresso and snifter of Drambuie. Another delightful lite afternoon snack with views of the Pacific Ocean was enjoyed by all. Can't wait to visit again.

I generally stick to seafood (shrimp, salmon, etc) but my dining mates have ordered other items too (steak, chicken, etc) and it's ALL good. I haven't received something I didn't like there. The food is flavorful and well seasoned. It's an oasis in a land of under-seasoned food. The salmon menuiere and the shrimp in some sort of Peruano sauce are my favorites. The pisco sours are good too! I went off course and ordered a flavored (raspberry) pisco - and it's just divine! The prices are fair - definitely not cheap, but not very expensive either. Expect an entree to be about 8500 CLP. Atmosphere/decor The atmosphere is casual. Main seating is upstairs. Service Service was fine. Service in Chile is a bit less attentive than what we are accustomed to in the United States, but no problems here. Recommendation Definitely go! Good food.

I went the safe route and ordered some fried chicken and fries. The actual plate itself was massive and I easily had enough for two, even three meals. Unfortunately th food was average at best. Again, not my type. Maybe I'm being cruel in only saying the food was okay, but it just wasn't anything memorable in either a positive or negative manner. It is what it is. The food made it so we didn't to hungry and that was that.
