The first time i visited him he told me that we go to have dinner at the Mühlenhof which is known for its home made bread and an old mill that had been dismantled and put back up behind the restaurant. While the mill is an authentic replica of an old working mill, Mühlenhof is a unique restaurant with many cozy niches that almost look like having dinner at someone's home. Every room is different and the attic has actually a 50's display of a dining kitchen.
Their food is out of the world. If you like sour sour roast (yes there is a sweet variety too) with huge dumplings and blue cabbage, this is the place. Even their varied German pancakes (not a sweet dish only as in America) is phenomenal with meats and cheeses to make your mouth water. A unique experience for Americans, while one of the many reasons Germany AND Europe is a great place for good dining.
