Despite the Michelin recommendation, this ended up not being a good choice for adventurous eaters who don't speak French. The restaurant didn't have English menus, staff didn't speak English, and the menu online ended up not reliably matching the French one we were presented with. All the wacky virtual menus I've been presented with over the last year... this is one place where we actually could have benefitted from one. If I knew I was just going to take the plunge on a high-end neighborhood spot, we would have done exactly that after walking around assessing things from street level. That's just not what we were looking for, and it's a shame other reviewers don't make this clear.
Anyway, the food was excellent, but I'm an adventurous, voracious, eater. Having to Google translate the physical menu or transliterate the web menu was exhausting and as a result we missed out on some exciting dishes. This said, the frog legs were excellent and the cote de bouef was certainly on par with that type of preparation you'd find at high-end steakhouses in the US (NYC or Chicago). Price-wise, $150 for the beef was not a deal here. read more
