This place was recommended to me by the staff at the Hohenzollern Castle (Burg Hohenzollern). I am glad they did. The staff was VERY friendly from the moment I walked in the door and accommodated my slightest whim. I didn't even look at a menu. I had a quick discussion with the manager, noted I wanted to try some LOCAL German food and let him make the selections for me (soup, salad, entree, desert.... all unique to this part of Germany). This was one of the best meals we had in Germany. I had the pike with fresh Chanterelles and a cucumber soup. The service was also fantastic, as we don't speak German the host kindly translated the specials for us, otherwise I wouldn't have known about the pike. When I got it, was not only delicious but also presented beautifully. As a bonus the hosts wife is the chef! Highly recommend. Ask about the specials beforehand, as you might want to order wine instead if beer. read more
