I've been going to L'insolite for years with my wife (winter and summer), always bypassing the big touristy terrasse restaurants for this little one tucked right in the shadow of Collioure's Notre-Dame-des-Anges. The staff are always friendly despite consistent turnover. It's more of a crêperie during the summer and a little resto off season. Either way you go, they deliver standard fare, nothing terribly gastronomic but definitely solidly good. The location is, of course, unbeatable. read more

For location it doesn't get better than this! L'Insolite is located on the boardwalk in front of the church and faces the Mediterranean a few meters away! The food is good and at a reasonable price. The staff is multilingual and helpful. On one visit when we had to wait we were provided a complementary glass of Banyuls. In recent visits I had a fresh anchovy salad and Spanish ham tapas.
