One of the waiters was outside smoking a cig and over heard us speaking English (no one in our party spoke any German). Hr wasn't shy and helped us out by explaining what was on their menu. He spoke very good English and was very welcoming. The service was fast and friendly. The place filled up with locals so we knew it would be good. There was a nice selection of beer, mixed drinks and café drinks. We sat at the bar and could see the bartender working; she was very detail oriented. My husband and his business partner ordered the chicken kabobs which were very well seasoned and moist. I had the salami baguette which came grilled with melty cheese; the accompanying salad was very good. We would definitely recommend when starting in suburban Düsseldorf.

The food is spectacular - so many tasty pork dishes that it's hard to choose. The ambiance is good, too. This is a former train station and a real train is next door. You can eat inside or on the patio and it's just lovely. There were lots and lots of people having end-of-the-day cocktails when I visited and I can surely see why. Such a pleasant atmosphere. I wasn't sure what to expect, having read reviews. I expected wifi - didn't get it. They offer 100…read moreMB, but I don't know why. Opening my computer and loading Google took 25 MB. Needless to say, I was unable to work from my week long stay. It put a damper in my workload. However, the bathroom is amazing and setup perfectly. It was strange to not have a washcloth, but more than enough towels. The shower is large and spacious, wonderfully laid out so it's just you and the shower head (adjustable, of course). There's a flow issue with the tpilet, which usually requires a couple button presses, but otherwise good. I was apprehensive when I saw the pillows due to prior experiences. HOWEVER, they're folded and tucked and quite comfortable. Best night I've slept in a hotel in the past 6 months (I'm a road warrior). The furniture layout is nice with plenty of room for all clothing. Unfortunately there is no information in the room about the hotel or that it's a Wyndham property. I knew nothing that was offered besides what was online. I'm also disappointed that no subtitles in English is ever offered on any t.v. I could find chinese, thai, Spanish, Al jazeera, russian, and Russian news in Spanish. Despite all that, I enjoyed my stay and posted photos of my room service offerings. I ordered both the Chef and Carter salads, and the Margarita pizza. All were good, but the salads need less dressing and make mention of the anchovies in the caesar.
